Surprised they haven't started their own bread yet.
Surprised they haven't started their own bread yet.
In my mind they used to (or maybe it was an existing brand, just sold cheap, like 99c at the time).
Or maybe I just day-dreamed it :-)
It has been my observation that cheap bread and milk get people in the door - then they might buy other stuff too.
River Mill?
Might have been, but not at anything like $2.00 a loaf (at least in my head!)
On the other hand, perhaps this was longer ago than I think ;-)
I remember Whittaker's for $2.50 on special at New World in 00s.
And a pint of milk for 4 cents a glass bottle in 70s.
Yes River Mill Bread use to be 99c a decade ago
Sold through warehouse and Indian Asian shops. Slightly higher price at diaries.
@Peter Wyngarde: Yeah I figured around covid it probably still was but wasn't sure as much for then, 2020-2024 is a blur lol
Should add Muffin splits and Hamburger Buns sre also $3 today
Whats the BB?
Guess it'll vary per store?
Probably like 4 days? Pretty sure that's the norm on bread.
Normally it's four and rarely its five.
Nice! Perfect timing, was gonna go in for milk and eggs today, now I'll stock up on bread too.
What no custard?
With a belly like mine, I leave it for Christmas!
Christmas pudding and custard!
Nice.
