    Sometimes the screens you're hooking up to already have HDMI cables hardwired into a point, especially for larger displays and projectors. Other reason I can think of is that replacing HDMI cables should they get damaged are relatively cheap and this takes up less space than a coiled up HDMI cable to USB C.
