Sign of the times I guess, doesn't appear like a particularly great deal at face value - but when you compare to the prices of everything else, you have to pay over $100 to get equivalent storage/specs locally.

Non-fortnite edition with same spec is $406.94 with CSC Premium.

Crazy that it is $124 cheaper than the cheapest 2TB NVME in PBTech (which is $424). I guess it might possible to shuck but would likely be quite a slow drive inside.

Doing a little bit of searching the Extreme model appears to use a SN550 (2600R/1950W) which is much faster than the 1000R/1000W the enclosed drive can achieve. Can't find anything on this specific drive, but the USB controller is a big bottleneck so could be a semi-decent drive when shucked.
Past a certain point speed isn't really that beneficial for day-to-day usage, latency/access time/random performance and power usage are much more noticeable in real-world usage.

$424 for the cheapest one! What the hell? I bought a 2TB Samsung 970 evo plus and 1TB Samsung 980 in 2024 and combined they cost less than that. I'm so glad I decided to upgrade my mobo to a DDR5 one just before all this memory shortage crap started. Just checked the price of my 32gb of Corsiar Vengence DDR5 6000mhz (CMK32GX5M2B6000Z30) that I got off Amazon for $171.45, and Computer Lounge had it for $1200 (out of stock) and it's currently $543usd on Corsair's site.

      Crazy times. Thanks AI.

I had one of these but they get hot and throttle and may drop out, the speeds are no way near stated, average around 300MB/s
The controller would be 1gbps same with the extreme.
I will look for the screen shots.

People reported these enclosed drives fail.
Make sure you keep the warranty papers.

E30-series have a high failure rate apparently.
