Do these look different to the ones that are already attached to the scooters or are people just going to assume you stole a helmet?

    • The new bicycle helmets I’ve seen out and about are majority white, pink logo. The two we received in the mail are majority pink, white logo.
Personality projection is damaging only to those who assume negatively of others. Their opinions do not matter to one who wears a pink hat with a smile.

  • so these would be used, likely selling old stock as per this rule.

"NZTA has decided any e-scooter can be ridden on the footpath, shared paths and on the road. A helmet is not legally required but is recommended."

  • are these reliable as a normal bike helmet alternative too? they achieve the same thing right

    • Riding an e-scooter/bike and crashing one before breaking my hand, these are rubbish, the egg helmets are no good. When you have an e-scooter best to have a full-face helmet that actually protects your face and jaw also.

Yep full jaw and face protection is very important IMO. Especially if u go at higher speeds. (ie higher than what these rental ones are capped at)

One thing I implore people to do is to learn how to properly hard/emergency brake and shift your weight against the direction of momentum on scooters and bikes even. Rarely see anyone doing so on scooters. Heard of far too many horror stories from family that work in Emergency departments

So, mine arrived about an hour after ordering. They are about the same quality as the helmets at Kmart.
It's a "large" helmet and it is more than big enough to fit my 61cm, oval head. It is spherical inside, so would "fit" any head shape. It's got next to no padding but does have an adjustable strap on the back to tighten for smaller heads. The chin strap is decently adjustable.
It is a new, unused helmet.

Will I be using it myself? No.
Will I be keeping it for others to use when all my other helmets are in use? Yes.
Will that person be comfortable? No.

    • What colour?

      • Pink with white flamingoes, like the picture.

    • Was it delivered on a lime scooter?

      • they were wearing to too.

  • Got one for my daughter about 6 years, 7 months to be precise, apparently. Uses it for skateboard and bike; still going strong. Was pretty good quality then, so I don't know what the quality of this particular helmet is now. Order another one anyway, thank you. cbemstar

  • Got refunded just now.
