[Club] Return Ticket Free with Purchase of Flight from Australia to Japan/South Korea (Conditions Apply) @ Jetstar

80

Jetstar just dropped a pretty wild deal. If you book a one-way flight from Australia to Japan or South Korea, the return flight is free. You’re basically paying for the outbound and getting the trip home thrown in.

This covers routes from Aussie cities like Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns into places like Tokyo, Osaka and Seoul. It’s on their Starter fares so you don’t get checked baggage, but even with that it’s insanely cheap for a return to North Asia.

Important for NZ people, this deal is from Australia, not New Zealand. You’ll need to get yourself to Australia first, but with how cheap trans-Tasman flights are, it can still work out way cheaper than booking from NZ.

If you can line up a cheap way to Australia, this is one of the cheapest ways you’ll get to Japan or Korea and back. These usually don’t last long once people start booking, so worth checking sooner rather than later.

gotta get to aussie first, if you are taking checked luggage, its not actually that cheap compared to previous NZ based offers that dont require you to purchase aussie tickets (and include checked luggage)

Not really worth it. Brisbane to seoul return for free excl baggage is $369 AUD. Baggage 20 kg each way is 49 AUD. Akl.- brisbane return would cost around $300-400 nzd min. total around 900-1000nzd. China air (the taiwan based carrier) is doing seoul return $1000. 18 hr journey.

That was some of my proudest work. Got excited for a moment, but then saw:

"If you are eligible for and choose to cancel the paid flight on the booking made as part of the Return for Free promotion for a credit voucher refund, then you will no longer be eligible for the free flight, and the free flight will also be cancelled. "

      Big RIIIIP.

      • I was able to get a few trips round NZ with it - cancelled all the paid legs and used all the free ones

      • What was the final outcome when it got to the Disputes Tribunal?
