  • Arguably the best part about this deal, is that none of the money spent on this brand is being used to fund a genocide as is the case with sodastream. 👍

I was just about to ask this!

I wonder about the machines themselves though, probably made outside NZ?

Can this be used by a refillable system? (I've got CO2 canister with sodastream quick connect adapter)

  • +2

assume the sodastream c02 canisters are not compatible with these?

    • I used the OhBubbles CO2 bottles with our sodastream machine in the past, so that would suggest the reverse too.
I gave up on the OhBubbles in the end as the idea of subscription models or posting/returning bottles was just cumbersome and cbf kicked in early, so just go and get a refill from M10/Briscoes

Totally agree about the subscription model of posting bottles, but it is worth keeping in mind that loads of stores stock them, including new world, packnsave, briscoes, 4square, farmers, bargain chemist, some new worlds, etc. So not really any added admin once you know where to go ;)

I have owned a sodastream machine and have switched to oh bubbles cannisters about a year ago, the cannisters are interchangeable (identical apart from the label/branding).

  • Is this cheaper than buying soda from the store? What are the ongoing costs for this?

    • Seems like the it would be cheaper in the long run if you drink soda often.

Each C02 canister does about 60l of soda if it’s the same size as soda stream and costs $40 dollars you’d need a couple of bottles of syrup depending on which brand of syrup you use, let’s just say 4 bottles so about 25-30 dollars.

      Works out to be $1.16/L

A 1.5 litre of Pepsi is 3 dollars from paknsave or $2/L

The subscription makes the canister a lot cheaper and you have more choices of flavours with syrups but it does take a while.

Anyone able to get the discount code working? Keeps saying it’s invalid when trying to enter it at checkout

    • 15% off code not working for me either

      • Neither. Despite the 15 in the code, it was only 10% off.
