Porting Telsim to Kogan issues

Hi,
Has anyone succefully ported their Telsim number to Kogan? I am on the $0 4Gb plan with Telsim (3rd month). I bought the blackfriday Kogan deal but now having a hard time porting number.

Kogan have been very slow and unhelpful, after several emails going back and foward they just ask me to do the standard porting method through their website. Which failed.

Have contacted them again, will see what happens. Its has been 11 emails and 4 days now…..

  • Good luck..
Move it to a big provider like one/spark/2d first on prepay then try.
Bet most of them dont know who Telsim is.

  • How many digits is your Telsim SIM serial number?
I recently had an issue porting from 2degrees to Kogan, and the solution was to enter only the first 18 digits of the SIM serial number by leaving off the last digit.

  • Sometimes if you giving someone else debit or credit card number when you signing up for kogan gives you a problem. It happen to my friend he put his own card details than worked straight away.

  • Make sure the name exactly matches

  • Oh man ported from Skinny to Korgan a month ago, they failed to move my incoming calls over and it took over a week and me having to reach out to ONE NZ for them to fix it for them. Their customer service is absolutely useless, they'll just kick the can down the line and do nothing about it. Like you, I had tons of emails to them. The day I moved over to mighty mobile is the day One NZ sorted it out for me, but it was too late by then.

No wonder they're the cheapest when they have terrible customer support. I did get a refund though.

  • Sounds like it is still a known issue.

Below is a post in the comments section when Telsim's 3 months free offer was posted on Cheapies.

Based on that post and to avoid issues, I bounced via Skinny (1 week plan) to Kogan from Telsim in the past 2 weeks.

It’s worth noting that you cannot currently port your number from Telsim to Kogan mobile in NZ. I just confirmed it with the customer support live chat.

I had the same problem last year when trying to go from Kiwi Mobile to Kogan. Had to go through another provider like 2 degrees before I can finally port my number to Kogan

  • Just an update have been in touch with both Kogan and Telsim, issue still unresolved.
I did find that the physical sim card when inserted into an iphone will automatically convert into an esim. The esim will have a different serial number.
The esim serial number doesnt seem to be recognised, however the physical sim serial does (however the physical sim is disconnected and doesnt work).

Will try porting to a different provider as suggest above if it cant be resolved.
