If anyones wondering, there doesn't seem to be solid support for this in Home Assistant from a quick search. Some community work on it might make it work but the main D-Link integrations dont seem to support the AU/NZ region product.
Reference products would be the TPLink Tapo P100 that can regularly be had for $20-25, or if you want energy monitoring the P110. The newest version is the P110M which adds Matter protocol support for local control, giving a few more options and what id recommend, and can be had on sale for $25-30 instead of $35.
But of course, this is over 2x this cheap $12 price point so depends on your priorities.
Thanks, stopped me from buying this!
Yep, also stopped me thanks to your sound advice.
Thanks. Gotta try and cancel my order now lol
If you do order it, that community linked integration might be worth exploring, or the alternative will be using one of its native integrations to the various cloud home platforms and then having HA interact via that.

Tempting price - but as others point out - somewhat questionable support from D-Link. If you keep an eye on the Tapo store they sometimes have specials. I managed to get 5 x P100 (non energy mon) for 11 AUD each and 5 x P110 (energy mon) for 15 AUD each. I have voted up as they are quite a good price as long as you know their limitations.
Yes - picked up a P110M in PBtech’s Black Friday sale for $23 I think - pretty much plug and play with HomeKit and just what I needed with the Christmas tree using an awkward to reach power point behind the couch - now I just tell Siri!
buy in nz 12NZD sell in aus from 20AUD haha
I wouldn't buy them on principle because D-Link stopped supporting my older smart plugs which cost a small fortune
I wouldn't buy them because they are D-Link
Yup tp link are currently in court atm for links to china ccp and security vulnerables

Most of my clients are now not purchasing TP-Link kit (and I don't buy it for clients if they ask me to source stuff).
Plenty of other options, so I just don't see the point in going there.
I'm not pulling existing kit out at this point, unless a client specifically asked me to.
I suspect that TP-Link might now be destined for the bottom (consumer) end of the market where people are oblivious anyway.
@Alan6984: I think you would find most retailers would still sell more TP-Link products than other companies
@kfr23: Because they are cheap just like huawei was, but that comes at a price. The Huawei 5g hardware was rubbish and had to be replaced within a year
@Vishnu Masala: Why bring Huawei in here!?
You must be trolling here at this point or just heavily biased I guess.
@Barserk: "Keep my precious huawei out of your mouth! " Because its similar to tp link, ties to chinese communist party, security vulnerabilitys and cheap. That's why you don't really see them around anymore.. Seems like you are just biased to crappy products and mad when someone points it out.
@Vishnu Masala: I’m just pointing out you’re bigoted towards Chinese origin products, no need to be too defensive about it. lol.
Either way you’re too deep into that propaganda stuff so good luck.
@Barserk: Sure thing winnie the pooh. News flash almost everythings made in china, so we can't criticise anything without upsetting you and your precious regime? But Keep worshipping your slave labour, lead and asbestos laden crappy products.
@Vishnu Masala: Haha! Defensive much!?
The hatred you’re spewing here shows evidently you don’t care about the products or companies, rather focus on the origin specifically. It clouds your judgement, to the point that it impairs your intellect
and you fail to notice your rant is proving my point. lol.
I’ll suggest you look into the mirror to see your bigotry clearly and the propaganda that led you there. I can’t help you with your own reflection or upbringing. Lastly I’ll just leave you with the saying of George Bernard Shaw “Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated”.
Good luck.
@Barserk: No need to take it so personally, its almost like you get paid to defend crappy West taiwan slave labour product's. Do you come to the defense of the 2dollar shop aswell? Might need to look at getting a real job instead of posting these actual nonsensical rants online.
I think you would find most retailers would still sell more TP-Link products than other companies
Could well be, but then most purchasers will be oblivious to all of this.
Don't get me wrong - I used to buy TP-Link all the time, going back to the mid 2000s, but just avoiding them now as a reasonable precaution that doesn't cost me anything to implement.
I have no ideological reason to support TP-Link, and I am not being pressured into buying their products by anyone - I'm free to choose any manufacturer I like (and can reasonably source).
@Alan6984: For TP-Link routers and APs you often have the option of using OpenWRT rather than stock firmware.

Sure, but all the same concerns would still apply (you can't wipe hard-wired stuff), and like I said above, I am free to choose, so why choose to take the risk?
have two, been using them for years, they work with the mydlink app and alexa.
low profile compare to many others
Same for me, I just ordered 2 more
would only let me order 1
Same, they integrate just fine with Google Assistant just fine and I add widgests to my home in my iPhone to trigger them at any time and they work mint. I bought two in october when they were on special for $14. They are all in use and I have like three sitting unplugged in a covert for the future. Being so cheap I feel compelled to buy more. I dont know what to do ha. Last time they even did free shipping for some reason.
Looks like they're sold out online.
This is back in stock.
Thanks, Stoic. Shipping is free as this is a clearance item.
