Sign up to Simply Broadband, Receive Up to $250 Bill Credit (Over 12 Months) @ Broadband Compare (Chorus Addresses w/ No Fibre)

40

This offer is only for these eligible addresses that can connect to the Chorus fibre broadband network and feature on that list. This will mostly consist of addresses where a fibre ONT is not installed or it is inactive.

An NZ Compare exclusive Broadband Deal only available through Broadband Compare - Link details below.
https://www.broadbandcompare.co.nz/p/simply-250-credit

The credit of up to $250 is available for new customers that join Simply Broadband via the Broadband Compare website using the online journey. This offer is for eligible addresses only that can connect to the Chorus fibre broadband network.

The Broadband Credit is paid in twelve equal installments over the course of a year.

The Free Broadband Credit Offer is only available for an address that meets our qualifying criteria. Qualifying addresses can be checked on the Broadband Compare website here - https://www.broadbandcompare.co.nz/p/simply-250-credit

The value of the 12 credits will have a different total worth depending on the type of fibre broadband plan you sign up to. This is detailed as:

$150 Free Broadband Credit on Essential Plan 100/20 (currently $59.59 per month) = 12 x $12.50 = $47.09 per month

$200 Free Broadband Credit on Plus Plan 500/100 (currently $79.79 per month) = 12 x $16.67 = $63.12 per month

$250 Free Broadband Credit on Pro Plan 950/450 (currently $99.99 per month) = 12 x $20.83 = $79.16 per month

Example for the avoidance of doubt: A customer connected for 3 whole months to a Fibre Essential Plan will receive 3 x $12.50 (Total $37.50) credit to their Simply Broadband account split over 3 months.

Hope I posted this in correct format ad followed guidelines. Thanks

  • I think you have put the wrong speed on the last 2 plans

    • +1

Updated to correct speeds - Many thanks!

      • How about existing customers do we get anything?

  • I cant get this plan at my address, are you limiting to certain regions. (3508 postcode)

    • Can't here either, outer Wellington region.

Looks like Sky is the cheapest if you can get the $55 deal.

  • Nice, my 1 year contract just finished with 2degrees and was on the look for a new provider.

Anyone used Simply Broadband before had any issues?

    • +1

Have used for ages, going great. They gave a freebie plan upgrade to all customers on a slower plan, I was happy… shows they care about their customers.

      • Thanks for the feedback!

    • I switched from Slingshot to Simply about two months ago. I’m not really sure what the issue is or how to describe it, but web pages and apps often take longer to load even though speed tests look normal. It’s happening to everyone in the house. I’ve also had to restart the modem quite often whenever it feels noticeably slow.

      • I actually had a very similar issue many months ago and it went away by itself, and it's started again recently too (while still on 2degrees).

I'm not sure it's an ISP issue though. The best way I can describe it is that initial 'handshake'. Once the handshake is made, the speeds are fine, but yeah sometimes certain pages, apps, or a reel on your phone takes longer to load.

  • I put an Auckland central and a North Shore address and both said ineligible for offer.

  • Can't get the offer in West Auckland as well.

  • Hi all - as detailed in the description this offer is only for certain, specific addresses.
The offer relates to eligible addresses that are checked against when you query your address on the site. This offer is only for these eligible addresses that can connect to the Chorus fibre broadband network and feature on that list. This will mostly consist of addresses where a fibre ONT is not installed or it is inactive.

it must be really specific then, I have a chorus broadband in a very central location. Thanks for sharing the offer though. :)

  • Random question, if you are connected with this ISP, do you get a weird connection where you are considered business/non residential
Im with Pulse energy bundle with fibre (ending soon) and my connection is showing up as Devoli https://prnt.sc/U84kUXOzswt5
One of the apps I use doesnt run as im not on a residential connection so was hoping to jump onto this deal

Edit: shoot didnt see the part where you are required to have an inactive connection/non fibre connected ready address

  • +1

Im with Simply Broadband and my connection shows as Devoli to, I guess Pulse and Simply rent from the same provider. In saying that I haven't run into any issues

  • +1

"Looks like your address can't get this offer"

Mt Wellington address. Have current fibre with Slingshot (Chorus)

is there ANYONE HERE eligible for this offer?

    • No in Hamilton

    • +3

Looks like it's only for addresses with no current active fiber connection. Probably some push by Chorus to get new customers onto their fiber network, must be offering Simply Broadband some kind of kickback/discount so they can afford to offer this deal.

      • thanks I feel that needs to be on the title of this post

        edit: someone edited the title

        • +3

          I'm only guessing! lol

They did say it was "mainly" properties with no ONT installed or an inactive ONT that will be eligible for the deal, though they didn't say what cases outside of those 2 scenarios would also be eligible, so maybe if you have an existing fiber connection you might still be eligible for this deal as well somehow? It's all a bit confusing really.

All I know is, I'm not eligible, unless you're talking about bachelors.

    • I’m wondering this too! I tried addresses (LFC is Chorus) that don’t have fibre connected currently but have ONTs installed. Also tried mine (fibre connected), and neighbours (no ONT) and all not eligible.

I’d be so keen to know too if anyone has an eligible address 😅.

  • I found this one seems ok

    https://www.broadbandcompare.co.nz/p/bryte-50-off-3-months?u…

    47.50 /mo for First 5 months then 95.00/month, averages $75.20 for first 12 months

    Otherwise
https://www.broadbandcompare.co.nz/b/zeronet $78 per month for first 12 months
https://www.2degrees.nz/broadband/plans?discount=yes $79 for first 12 months (if you have a 2degrees mobile plan)

Feel like no one is really giving impactful discounts

    • +1

      Zeronet is terrible

  • Tried for my Christchurch address and I’m unfortunately not eligible. As per other comments must be very specific or people who aren’t on fibre yet?

  • Does not seem to work in Wellington either.

  • Mercury has 6 months free when bundled with power on a 12 month contract.
At my address I get these prices:
    Low user $1.725 / day + 0.2726 / kwh inc GST

    Normal user $2.2885 /day + 0.2498 / kwh Inc GST

    500up 100down $96/ month for 6 months so $576 per year or $48 / month average

    874up 494down $111/ month for 6 months so $666 per year or $55.50 / month average.

Does this sound any good? I'm about to switch.

    • Broadband is definitely worth it. But check the power rates with your current provider & others. Wouldn’t recommend using PowerSwitch as you cannot enter your current rates (if they are different to the plans that PowerSwitch has saved).

Providing ChatGPT your current provider’s bill and potential other providers rates is pretty good - just cross validate its numbers!

  • I tried this using an address in Auckland (my neighbour's house) where I know for a fact

    1) it is was previously connected to Chorus fiber (I have seen the fiber box)
    2) it is currently not connected to Chorus fiber (I know this because the house is currently empty - I am also nice and let my neighbour use my Wifi when they come and stay in the house for the weekend)

But this address still seems to be ineligible for for the offer.

If I cancel my fiber broadband for example, and switch to 4/5g for a few days would I become eligible for this offer? It's hard to know. There must be some other criteria at play too which is hard to understand.
