Does their pod system include access to Sky Go?

I asked and they said yes it does

How does the referral system work? Cheers

    • But you won't be able to record without paying another $15 p.m.

      • You can't record with the pod anyway

  • How likely are Sky to offer this to existing customers if they call up?

    • +1

      I would say slim chance.
Like most things once you are signed up all the focus goes to gaining new customers rather than looking after existing.

      Still, can’t hurt to try?

I asked this morning and they allowed it. Used the chat function. I did say I was going to cancel if they didn't give it to me! LOL https://imgur.com/a/06KwP2S

      • +1

Thanks for this! Managed to get it applied with the chat function also, just straight up said we don't have a contract and would like to take advantage of this and be locked in for 12 months.
3 minutes later just saved $720 for the year, plus had a little credit they owed.

They may offer a Black Friday deal on Sky Sport Now so may be worth waiting if you just are after sport

  • do people still pay this much money to Sky? I guess it's Rugby fans or something?

    • +4

Paying for Sky in 2025 is like still having a landline and a fax.

      • +1

Never underestimate the monetization to be had from legacy technologies. AOL just closed their dial up service last month!

    • Exactly.
My folks would be lost without it.
My brother uses the account for Go to watch some sport.
So it gets used at least

    • Yep i do. I pay $110 a month for Sky starter and Sports plus thier Fibre Pro which is a gig down and 500 Mbps up. Seemed like a good deal and i watch alot of sport.

      • +2

That's really decent for sports and fibre pro - how did you get that?

        • +2

I alreday had sports, they called me and asked what it would take to switch broadband over to them. I was with 2 Degrees at the time and asked them to beat thier offer at the time.

    • +1

The entertainment and movies packages are not really worth it but it's still the easiest and most reliable way to guarantee you can watch the sport the carry.

  • +3

Existing customer, i got them to renew usig the BLACKFRIDAY deal

    • Was that thru a phone call or web chat?

      • Through phone, i just mention that i saw there black Friday deal, and if they could sign me up on that, as my current contract was about to finish

  • Thought about it, (as an existing customer), but not interested in the Sport and the Movies weren't that great last time they had them free for a month. Can't really be bothered lol.

  • Also you have to pay another $15 per month to record, if you opt for the Sky box
