What are the prices? Title is vague.

    • Agreed. No idea of what the actual savings are.

    • +4

Not very clear from OP, but the deals are on a different page where it has all the deals listed, https://www.pbtech.co.nz/promotions/black-friday

      IPhone 17- was $2349, now $2199
      7700XT- was $746, now $599
      Samsung 55" 4K OLED TV - was $2999, now $1999

Xiaomi Mi G20 Handheld Vacuum Cleaner $279 - is that vacuum cleaner any good?

    • I've got one and I think it's really good, I recommend it for that price

      • Is the battery user replaceable?

        • I looked into that and sadly it appears that it's not.

Should we expect more sales to be announced?

Was hoping for a discount on Sony XM6…

        • +2

Unfortunately what is on the website is what we can see right now the big sales like this they try really hard to not make word spread too fast as if there is a sudden change just before the sale that can cause issues.
There will most likely be a sale on some big brand headphones so i would check back during the day tomorrow if they decide to post more pricing for "Superhero" deals

If I buy items listed on your Black Friday deals page at their full price right now, I assume I can use your Black Friday price promise to claim back the difference once the deals go live?

        • Seems a cheeky way of getting a head start on the sale? I think the price difference is refunded in gift cards?

          • @L3tstaxth1s: That's the idea! Secure the stuff I want before it sells out. There's no shortage of things I can find to spend PB Tech gift cards on

            • @salmonsalami: Not sure I agree with the method though tbh… ill just wait for the online tonight like everyone else.

        • I could be wrong but price promise works for black Friday pricing going forward. Items bought before might be excluded from it. Worth checking before commiting.

          • +1

@ace310: The price promise has been active since 5 November and runs until 3 December. What's not clear to me is if the prices advertised on that page count, or if they are in-store only prices and they could argue don't count.

Buy any product for home use in-store at PB Tech or online at www.pbtech.co.nz between 5 November 2025 and 3 December 2025, and if that same product (identical PB Tech Part #) drops in price on the PB Tech website on or before 3 December 2025, we’ll issue you a PB Tech eGift Card equal to the difference between the price you paid and the lower advertised price.

            Conditions apply:

Offer excludes price drops resulting from genuine pricing errors, commercial or wholesale orders, and orders placed on term accounts.
            * Products that already include 30-day price protection as part of an eligible PB Care purchase are not eligible.
            * Products that have been exchanged, credited, or refunded are excluded.
            * PB Tech reserves the right to define "home use" and to decline any claim we believe relates to commercial or wholesale activity.
            * Minimum claim value is $1. Claims for price differences below $1 will not be accepted.
            * All claims must be submitted online at www.pbtech.co.nz/redeem/black-friday-price-protection-claim no later than 10 December 2025.

          • @ace310: I went in and bought stuff yesterday and asked about it, they said something along the lines of 'that's the point', so should be good.

Anyone able to recommend a laptop on a good deal? Looking for some light gaming (noting my collection is from 10 years ago), and to use for DJ'ing/general home use?

    • +1

      Hi,
If I was gaming, I'd get this from:
      https://talkischeap.co.nz/products/lenovo-legion-5-15irx9-co…

Seems a decent deal, with the 24gb RAM, 4060 graphics card. The sale makes it from memory $1,411.
4060 cards should play old games fine at high settings, and 1080p games at low-to-medium settings fine as well.
      Dunno much about DJ'ing.
General home use - more than adequate.

      • -1

it shows $1,700.00 also the laptop is not new

Add to cart. 17% blackfriday discount applied automatically.

  • Iphone 17 pro is on sale for $2199. Not for $2349. Price in title is wrong.

    • All the prices in the title are wrong

      • Should be fixed now

    • Wasn't that the normal price of the 16 pro a few months ago. I think they put the new pro models up $150 in New Zealand

      • Admin later updated the prices in title.

      • No, the base 16 Pro was $1999 and the base storage was 128GB.

        • I was meaning the 256gb model of the 16 pro was $2199. But looks like the price was increased for the 17 pro.

    Samsung S90D 55"
    Uses QD-OLES
    Tizen OS
    No DV
So even for a good price, I'll pass.
    https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/s90d-s90dd-oled-qd…
The 42-inch, 48-inch, and 83-inch models use WOLED panels.
It's important to note that Samsung's 2024 OLED lineup is confusing. They're releasing S90Ds with both WOLED and QD-OLED panels, and the type of panel you get varies by the TV's size and what region you're in. A QD-OLED panel's performance and overall picture quality is typically better than a traditional WOLED panel, so this decision will surely lead to some disappointed customers. Our review is based on the QD-OLED version of the TV.

    • What TVs would be better in this price range?

      • +1

I'd don't follow the market, but I'd say not much could beat it at that price.
The QD-OLED is still great, just be aware, it might be not the best offering in the S90D range.
I've got a 3 year Sony OLED, my folks have a 1 year old Samsung, and I prefer Google TV interface over Tizen OS
I watch a bit of DV content (no idea if I could spot the difference from HDR10+), but I'd always wonder if I was watching content on a Samsung.

So the features are why I'd pass. But they might not be important to others.

        • +1

Tizen is so shit because of the lack of apps! have to have a google tv dongle hooked up too.

  • So to be one of the first 500 people is that from when they open the store tomorrow at say 9am or first in line from 5pm when the sale starts?

    • +2

      after 5PM

  • Iphone 17 pro - ships on the 18 Dec, pick up on the 24th Dec? Yet 5 in stock? Confusing.

  • +1

I would pay $150 more to not get an orange iphone LOL

    • If you shove it in a case, does it matter what colour it is?

      • +9

If a ginger wears a hat… you can still tell

        • 🤣🤣

      • +1

You can still see the back where the cameras are, as the case doesn't cover that, and due to the size of that massive projection on the 17 pro it is very noticeable.

        • Ah this makes sense. Cheers for the reply and not flaming me :)

  • Anyone at the stores now? Whats it like? Crowds?

    • Was at the Palmy store.
They are really good with limiting people into store.
They are were not rushing anyone.
      Fast tho.
      Line around the building.
I picked up 1 set of DDR5 ram and that is it so far. I will need to research cpu and motherboard.

    • No line outside at Hamilton store, but massive like for checkout.

      • What did you buy Wakrak??

        • Xiaomi Fan 2 and then got enticed by the usb cables while I was waiting in line. Thought it would be too dangerous if I had a proper look around

          • +1

            @Wakrak: How's the Fan 2? Worth the $109?

            • @eXDee: Not sure compared to other fans at the same price but I really like it. DC motor, adjustable oscillation, looks great, easy to control with phone, and app is solid. Second one I've purchased (my 2yr old has the other, so little things like the fan making no noise when making a change and an adjustable turn-off time are things I really enjoy).

              • @Wakrak: I am only a little bit annoyed that I paid full price for the fan a few months ago… should have waited :(

              • @Wakrak: Dumb question - where do you store it during winter seasons?

                • @L3tstaxth1s: Wardrobe. Same with column heater in summer. + it easily breaks down into three pieces (the fan).
