Even with this, Im struggling to get a shop cheaper than Pak N Save. Seems like Woolworths prices are more than 20% higher than Pak N Save? So not even worth it.

    • 1kg prawn cutlets $17.9. That's cheaper than PnS.

      • I still have plenty in the freezer. Looks like a few weeks ago at Pak N Save: Fisherking Raw Prawn Cutlets 800g $13.99/ea.

I've posted this before but I think it's worth mentioning again.

Consumer did a survey October last year, they tracked prices for a basket of common grocery items from NW, PnS and Woolies for 8 weeks in ChCh, Auck and Welly, and their finding was that Woolworths were the most expensive followed by New World.

"On average, across all regions, our basket of goods from Pak’nSave was $116.18, nearly $14 a week cheaper than the average basket of the same items for New World Clubcard members (the second cheapest store in our survey). That’s a saving of more than $700 a year.

The savings were even greater when compared with the average cost for Woolworths loyalty members (savings of $15.87 per week/$825 per year)."

I wouldn't be surprised if Woolworth's was even further behind PnS now.

The only time I shop at Woolworths is if there's a good special that I can preferably use with one of my Everyday rewards boosts so I can double dip on the savings, everything else is bought from PnS.

Yeah I just added some things to my cart that were on sale.
Tip top jelly tips 10 pack. Says its more than 50% off at $5. But at Pak N Save its $4.59
Strawberries $5 on sale. But at Pak N Save $3.99 (were $2.99 last weekend)
Chocolate yoghurt big pack of 12 (100g each) for $8.50 on sale. But at Pak N Save $3.99 for a 6 pack of 125g.
Nearly everything that Woolworths is saying is on sale, even 50% sale, is cheaper at Pak N Save.
I remember last week I think it was Woolworths had a sale and their best sale priced item was two Cadbury chocolate bars for $5. But at Pak N Save, they were on 3 day sale for $1.99 each, then then after the 3 day sale were on sale for $2.39 each.

Oh well. Ive come up with a trolley now of about $100 at Woolworths which would cost me about $90-95 at Pak N Save. So after the $20 off, it ends up cheaper.

  • Nappies look like a good option.

  • I got the email, but not sure what im going to purchase since everything seemed more expensive

    • I canceled my original Edmond flour order. Placed a new one with some prawn cutlets to make the total amount $100+.

      • any insight of next week mailer? @bigcheese

        • Still a bit too early for me unfortunately.

          • @bigcheese: cheers. I'm gonna wait and gamble on next week's special. Struggling to put $100 without alcohol.

Council rubbish bags? Thry are usually pretty much the same price everywhere and dont usually go on sale

      • This is what i usually will grab with this deals, however Woolworths is $2 more expensive per 5 pack (Wellington council) than the rrp from buying from council.

        $18.55 vs $20.49

Might be better buying different things.

  • Targeted? I tried last night wasn't eligible
