SUMMERWKND

Skinnies have a 30% off storewide + free shipping code for their Labour Weekend sale. Code: SUMMERWKND

They have the following two kid's SPF50 sunscreens on special at $22.99 down from $45.99. Add one of these to your cart and use code SUMMERWKND to bring it down to $16.10 per tube delivered:

https://skinnies.co.nz/products/skinnies-kids-spf50-1

https://skinnies.co.nz/products/skinnies-kids-spf50-2

(Both are the exact same product just in different packaging)

Highly recommend this stuff, we've used it for years on our kids. A little bit goes an EXTREMELY long way as it contains no water (they say to use a pea sized blob) and it is also 2hr water resistant. Just don't let the tube bake in the sun for hours as the coconut oil can separate if you do this.

Has this stuff been affected by recent stories about Aussie sunscreens? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/articles/c62qd…

Hard to know what brands to trust really!

      Totally agree.

It is made in NZ. Consumer link above has it last tested the claimed SPF in 2023.

Wasn't on the list of brands from Australia recently as far as I'm aware

Recently, I did some research with the help of ChatGPT, Grok and Google. New Zealand follows EU sunscreen regulations, meaning you get access to modern UV filters (unlike the US market). So you can find products with Tinosorb S (Bemotrizinol), Tinosorb M (Bisoctrizole), Uvinul A Plus (Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate), Uvinul T 150, and the newest Mexoryl 400 (MCE).

Below are the best and most accessible options in NZ — all serve the main function as sunscreen (not just a moisturizer with SPF).

      1. La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMune 400 Gel-Cream SPF 50+ – $37.99 – Chemist Warehouse NZ / Life Pharmacy
      2. Eucerin Sun Oil Control Gel-Cream Dry Touch SPF 50+ – $33.34 – Adore Beauty NZ / Chemist Warehouse NZ
      3. Ultra UV Protective Daily Moisturiser SPF 50+ – $105.00 – Ultraceuticals NZ / Mecca NZ
      4. Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun (Rice + Probiotics) SPF 50+ – $34.95 – Hikoco NZ / Stylevana NZ
      5. Nivea Sun UV Face Shine Control SPF 50+ – $14.99 – Chemist Warehouse NZ / Countdown NZ
      6. Beauty of Joseon Rice Relief Sun Aqua Fresh SPF 50+ – $31.00 – Hikoco NZ / YesStyle with NZ

  • Do you know if they're okay for sensitive skin? My kids tolerate the Goat sunscreen but flare up using the standard sunscreen

    • +2

My 6yo has had super sensitive skin his whole life, lots of eczema, even the chlorine in our water can set him off. We have to get him special oat milk soaps. But he gets on absolutely fine with this suncream and always has. But might not be the same for you.
