Great that you can get a discount, but do people really pay off their previous nights' dinner in instalments?
I've never used Afterpay, and never intend on doing so, I'm just curious.

    • I see this as just pretty much interest-free installments/payments that just get added to your credit card bill each fortnight. In saying that, I'd only use Afterpay if there's a discount for it.

When there's a discount involved, why not? It's interest free and you can pay it off right away if you really want, rather than dragging it out over 2 months

    • You can also pay off your Afterpay account as soon as you make a purchase so you don't need to pay it in instalments. That way you don't need to worry about future instalments.

I use afterpay on dominos when I use the shopback link since it has to be paid online and I dont trust them with my card details. Basically use it like paypal to act as an inbetween for my payment details.

Also afterpay is good to group small purchases like temu and kmart together so that I don't clutter my card transactions up with things to check off, then pay it in one lump sum and use the gem visa to get the 6 months interest free.

For some reason they have dropped the no first payment thing to new users of it, but I still have it so there is absolutely no reason as a customer to not use it when it gets me the extra time with money in my account, and lets me milk gem visa for the interest free time after that.

Of course, there's great logic at play here.

      1. want a taxi for my burrito
      2. can't afford it
      3. consider driving to where my burrito is
      4. consider making my own burrito
      5. nope
      6. borrow money for a taxi for my burrito
      7. enjoy lukewarm expensive burrito

Yes, I can leave my cash offsetting the mortgage so delayed payments is saving me more $$

Get a ‘something went wrong’ error adding the code

  • I added this code successfully earlier, and looking tonight it is gone from my account. Same for anyone else?

Still there for me. Used it on Wednesday too.

      • I reused the code and it came back again, so just a temp glitch somewhere

This deal is fine for people who can budget properly, but just seems so predatory. Shouldn't be encouraging people to finance their McDonald's order.

The fact that it doesn't apply to items already discounted makes it pretty much worthless.

The Cheapies strat to Uber Eats is to only use it when you have a promotion, and 30%+ discounts on items are already common at many stores. I thought I could double dip, but with a $30 post-discount cart, it says the code is not eligible.
