  • Havana… Since when?

I can’t believe their price has gone up at least twice this year!

A lot of previous comments here in the past if you search past deals. Reminds me when these were $16 each for a period!

Yup, was going to say the same. I'm old enough to remember when they were $16/kg

    • Blame the weather in South America for the price increases, it's not the only factor but it's the main reason we've been paying a lot more for coffee lately.

  • You can also get the same deal from Warehouse Stationery
No click & collect fee if not available at your local store or free shipping over $85 spend.

  • Is this okay to use on the Breville Barista Express? I see most of the comments here recommend freshly roasted beans, but I often can’t find them in stores, the freshest I’ve come across was about 2 months old.

    • These 1kg bags will be fine to use in your machine, just be sure to store the unused beans properly because I don't know about other people but I've found 1kg of coffee beans to be a helluva lot of coffee beans, it takes us ages to get through them!

    • Not this bean. I’ve found that dark roast beans usually don’t extract properly (low pressure), even with the grind size set to 1.

Dark roast is coffee roasting speak for "chuck every old bean we can into the mix and roast until there's no life left in them"

Yes. Have used these beans for a long time now and get a great coffee. The price is hard to beat when most other brands are around double that. They need to be a bit more coarse. We set the grind at 8 and use the large filter. Also recommend one of those 2-in-1 tamping / leveling tools to get consistent tamping (got ours from Amazon).

Keep an eye on these beans

They sometimes go on special for $20-ish. I just bought 3kgs of (ground) coffee for about $70.

Last year it was something like $17 for 1kg (I bought 4kgs back then for about $70, which lasted almost a year for me)

    • Haha this is what I do!

      • Let us know when they come down in price. Keen to give them a try. Do you get a good creama with these?

  • dont like dark roast its like smoking carbon taste

Just commented above on this :) , yep, dead cremated beans

  • Cheaper to get beans on amazon.com.au
