With a free side trip to El Salvador? I'll pass.

Hmmm, a cheap trip to El Salvador. Hear they got good beaches.

      • Not sure if beaches are an option via that iternary. There might be some sand around some concrete walls though. And the place will be absolutely packed 😄

Could be Uganda! The only thing you know for sure is that you do not pass GO and do not collect $200.

      • Amazing, love these mystery destination tours

El Salvador is incredible, I actually did Nashville + El Salvador last year 😂 It was my third visit, and every time I go back it’s growing so fast. You can pay with bitcoin almost everywhere now, and it feels really safe. It used to be dangerous, but things have completely turned around. Don’t buy into the fear from opposition media, they’re just trying to scare people. The only ones who need to worry about prison are the criminals.

        That's hilarious!

Yeah, I've been through Colombia, Bolivia, Cuba and parts of Mexico solo that people look horrified at. Meh. Was great! Meanwhile I got robbed twice in Spain, one of the most tourist-friendly countries around!

Unfortunately without due process you can't easily say who the criminals are, they could just pick/profile anyone, which does seem to be happening a bit. I do feel that carrying an Aussie/Kiwi passport and clearly just being a tourist, you'll likely be fine though.

        • Yeah, the idea that you’d just get thrown in prison without due process is really exaggerated. Everyone detained in El Salvador goes through a process. Many have been released, and plenty have been rehabilitated. The headlines are mostly political spin, especially around US deportations. Of the extreme offenders deported there, the Venezuelans have already been traded back to Venezuela. And there aren't cases of tourists or foreigners being illegally detained in El Salvador. In fact, El Salvador has recently negotiated for the release of foreign political prisoners held in Venezuela.

        Not t sure if satire

Not satire. Here’s a clip of me buying McDonald’s with Bitcoin in El Salvador back in 2023.

          • @jamesviggy: Touche. Can you see the sights in Nashville with public transport or do you need to rent a car?

            • @justaddwater: I was in Nashville for an event at Bitcoin Park near Vanderbilt, and I got around easily with walking and Uber/Lyft. Downtown is pretty walkable. If you plan to explore beyond the city, renting a car might be cheaper than relying on rideshares.

To be fair I would rather go there than Nashville.

  • any cheap flight to Korea? looking to fly sometime next year.

    • +1

give me a few days, I'll run some scripts :P

      • and to Toronto/Vancouver please, around June/July next year would be perfect if you have something cheap

  • I need to return to NZ at the end of this year from Spain. Does the website work well for trips not starting from NZ or Oz? So far the flights one way I've looked at have been more expensive than the return flight deals from Auckland.

After taking another look just now, it seems like it's a lot cheaper to fly out of Madrid or Barcelona instead of Valencia. Google flights seem to work really well, I can't get the btf website to load properly it seems.

    • Definitely works from anywhere to anywhere, despite being mostly oriented to Aus/NZ, I've had bookings from all over the world.

The one way from Europe thing is frustrating, I've seen that too. From my experience, you're best off looking for the cheapest airport in Europe (I'd take a look at MAD, BCN, VCE, NCE, AMS, MUC, ATH and IST), and then maybe a cheap ryanair/easyjet flight to connect with it, rather than looking from where you are exactly.

      can't get it to load??

One known issue is some people get the airport field stuck if they're in Chrome, clearing cookies or opening in a private/incognito window always seems to resolve it.

If not , please do let me know!
