Quake City will be free to visit on Saturday 9 August and Sunday 10 August.

A visit to Quake City is a must to understand the seismic events that shook Christchurch and Canterbury more than a decade ago.

This special exhibition at 299 Durham Street North, Christchurch, is packed with interesting displays and interactives for all ages. Hear from those who lived through the earthquakes and those who came to help.

Learn about the science behind the quakes and with the help of a hands-on interactive understand the phenomenon of liquefaction. Suitable for visitors of all ages.

      Yeah or you could just watch some videos on youtube and have the same information. I'd rather go to Te Papa which is free and go in the quake house etc.

  It ain't worth $20, although the videos about the people's experiences were interesting - like the cop who had to deal with the prisoners in the holding cells in town.
  I'm surprised they didn't have more information about Tina, the 2024 NZ movie.

  Talking to staff today, they had an overwhelming response of 1000+ people on day 1 and more than 200 in first hour of day 2.
