My current broadband contract is coming to an end soon, and I'll probably stick with a starter plan. Has anyone tried Sky Broadband? The $60 per month seems reasonable, especially since they include a free router.

I've been with them just over a year and am perfectly happy. Also using an Asus router, so maybe we're in the same botnet?!
I haven't had any technical problems so don't know how good that is, but I can tell you they answer the phone quickly. No sitting on hold for hours.

Using them for around 3 months now, No complaints yet.
I'm using the sky router which they did took a while to send me but other than that pretty decent for the price.
Broadband is fine, but the customer support/onboarding isn’t the best
I had a couple of issues with delivery initially, where the staff were little help. also received 2-3 phone calls trying to sell me sky after I’d already purchased

Agree with Coolbro, service itself is fine but you will waste time and effort trying to deal with Manila script readers using fake US accents until you get them rattled.. So long as nothing goes wrong the BB service is fine.

do they tag vlan 10 or not?

I have been with them for 4 months, came from NOW BB which seemed faster but not noticeable in general use. Setup was hassle free and modem turned up within 2 days but I reprogrammed my exisiting Deco setup without issue 👍🏻

Thanks guys. I will be joining. cheers.

I joined up and noticed that even though I signed up to the slower 100 speed, it a still getting the save 500 speed I was getting with Slingshot. I am not using the Sky modem either

Is this still the case for you?

No. I learnt they mucked up my connection

been with them for 4 months. 100mbps is fine… was on 100mbps a few years ago before the "free upgrades".

Got an email that prices are increasing - but looks like they're offering a non-penalty exit

Not sure if applies if you signed up under a special offer

I signed up and didn’t even realise they emailed 3 days after my plan started about price increase, but it does say the following…
When is my broadband price changing?
From 1 October 2025, your Sky Broadband plan will cost $5.00 per month more.
But as you’re currently on a broadband special offer, your monthly charge will only rise once your offer period ends.

They probably don’t want people leaving them due to them breaking the contract.

In case you don't know
Sky is reselling vocus broadband.Which doesn't mean vlan tagging unfortunately
But speed is similar to slingshot/2degrees etc
I'm on their 100mbps plan. Good value

Been with them only 4 days now, no complaint as yet. They did send out a sly router, but I’m using my own Asus router. Changeover was very simple.
