Hope it goes well for you.

Thank you. With the unfortunate liquidation of Little Island (Nice Blocks) we've had quite the uptake of new customers come onboard.

Have you considered maintaining a map of where your products are stocked on your website?

    • Yes, absolutely. I'll look into it. Thanks

      • Until then, does anywhere in Hawkes Bay stock them so I can give 'em a try?

        • Not at the moment, but hope to shortly. You'll be happy to know we move through tons of Black Doris Plum which comes to us straight from Hawkes Bay.

          • @wowbigdeal: Oh nice! If you are interested in some apples, reach out. We grow them here and in Central Otago.

            • @Jexla: Very good to know, that's for the heads up. I'll keep it in mind.

              • @wowbigdeal: Oh, cherries too during the season!

                • @Jexla: Cherries!!! I've been thinking about a cherry option. Thank you

I would love to do that. Unfortunately my frozen freight guys don't deliver to residential addresses. Sorry about that

        cough voucher cough.

Seriously though, any ideas on where I can source these in chch?

From a regular joe consumer point of view, these definitely look good enough to try.

    Potential issues I have are:
    1. There is no way of easily accessing location of stockists other than 'various retail locations across the country'
    2. Price for items are not shown anywhere
    3. The ice cream market is already heavily saturated, I personally probably won't spend much money trying new things (compared to tried and tested brands like Kapiti) unless there is an incentive to try such as a free sample or an initial discount.

    Just my 2 cents

You're right. It's a hugely competitive market and I've gone up against some very big players.
My first customer was a small cafe. I supplied them with a small cheap second hand display freezer. They were very happy with how sales went. A few years on and we stock over 70 outlets throughout the country. We've had a very positive reception from a ton of people. Of course we contine to battle the big guys and it's a constant battle when they have bottomless pockets and infinite money. But it is the way it is.

50 years ago the ice cream industry was relatively small with lots of small players. Now it's a multi billion dollar global industry controlled by a couple of global giants. What will it be in another 50 years? I'm happy to be a part of it and continue to grow my small New Zealand business.

Kapiti Ice-cream was started in NZ by a couple of guys, purchased by Fonterra, contract manufactured by Tip-Top which sold to Froneri which is part owned by… Nestle.

I feel that if anyone has an idea for a product, service or brand turn the idea into a reality. Chip away at it. Do something everyday to grow it. You never know, you just might succeed.

      Cheers
