  • YMMV but I had issues with getting cashback for my last TEMU order. In the end, after many emails they made a one time exception to my cashback rejected and paid out, but only for 1 of my 2 orders. Based on other comments I've seen, it might be a gamble

    • Just an update, @gotyourback ended up refunding the 2nd order as well, as cashback "bonus".

I'm having all sorts of trouble with Shopback tracking as well. No responses on tickets raised either.

    • +1

      Me too, they are horrible

  • +6

I've had about 400 cashback from shopback but feel bait and switched, now recently having to constantly manually claim and it just sits there never getting updated despite evidence provided

    • Do you think this is a recent thing? i noticed shopbacks has become unreliable , not only it never tracks and claims got rejected even though evidence submitted, and eventually got accepted after dispute but payment never confirm after the due date

  • +6

Had to waste a lot of time providing explanations and evidences to get the cash back. not worth it.

  • I placed two orders last time when this deal was on, never tracked, reported missed tracking and was rejected, finally after disputing and got some of the money tracked, less than the advertised amount, Too much hassle as it make no sense at all to buy from Temu if it was not heavily discounted.

    • don't open your goods until tracked, use temu refund policy if untracked?

      • thats what i have done, plan is is not resolved within 2 weeks then return, but thats too much hassle

  • Yes I have two previous orders that were declined. Raised a dispute and PM'd @gotyourback but still waiting. I'm a little reluctant to order this time even though I have a list of things I need from TEMU and was waiting for this cashback offer to buy them…

    • Was it declined after making u wait for the 4 months period??

      • I just got this email for one of my Temu cases. Still waiting on the other one. Note that none of the explanations are valid. "Due to recent updates". Not sure what that means…

"I trust this message finds you well. Your continued support means a lot to all of us at ShopBack.

Unfortunately, <Temu> won't process rewards for your recent order due to recent updates. This decision is influenced by factors like attribution to another marketing channel.

Some other factors that may affect your cashback my also include as below :-
        - Clicking on another chrome extension after clicking from ShopBack
        - Opening other web pages (including search sites, social media, store sites, promotional/discount sites) or web browsers after clicking through ShopBack
        - Clicking through to another page from a banner, pop-up, or advertisement on the store’s webpage while shopping
        - Antivirus/Cleanup or Adblocker applications blocking or disrupting Cashback tracking (Tracking cookies are required to track transactions)
        - Clicking on a banner/promo that appears on the Merchant's site after clickthrough from ShopBack

Please keep in mind that transactions with merchant partners, whether through ShopBack or otherwise, are subject to the partner's terms and conditions, covering returns, cancellations, exchanges, and shipping policies. ShopBack does not operate as an agent of any merchant partner, and their operations are beyond our control. Any engagement with their offers is a direct understanding between you and the merchant partner, and we assume no liability for any aspect of such interactions.

However, we value your support and we'll proceed to manually credit the rejected Cashback for this time off as goodwill. It will be reflected within 48 hours.

Should you have further questions or require assistance, please feel free to reach out. Your understanding in this matter is genuinely appreciated."

  • I have never had issues with Temu claiming. It even picks up when I shop directly through the Temu app.

    • I always use a web browser, but also have never had any issues

    • +1

The way these cashback services work is they add an affiliate/referral code to the URL, so they can track that the purchase you made came from ShopBack. This is why they either get you to use the ShopBack app (which then redirects you to Temu with the code added already), or get you to use ShopBack from their website and then you click on Temu, from there it redirects you with the code added to the Temu link.

So if you're saying that you simply just open the Temu app and you got cashback automatically, then that makes no sense.

    • Yea nah

  • It's a hit and miss for me. I got like $20 cashback so far, but should have tracked a lot more of my orders. Tried it on my phone using the ShopBack app with Private DNS and Adblock (host-file system-wide) disabled. Tried on a vanilla browser with no adblock extensions installed and all privacy/tracking/adblock settings disabled in the browser. Some tracked OK, some didn't.

@Deephardfunky - out of curiosity, how did you come across this deal before they even sent out the email? I only got their promo email this morning.

    • It shows the deal on shopback

    • +2

I thought the 70% CB was going to be on the 25th as it has been the last couple of months so have been checking. It popped up as an advert on the Temu page on the shopback app yesterday.

  • +1

They won't honour this cashback. Made two orders using the same deal last month and they were rejected with no basis. Customer support didn't help. Don't fall into this trap.

  • "Opps!
Sorry, only new users can get this coupon."

    why do we even bother!

    • +1

I assume this is once you click through to Temu? This is likely the Temu new user coupon, not the cash back offer :)

  • +2

Just to offset the negative experiences. Both my Temu orders tracked last time this offer was on. I always make sure to follow the conditions and haven’t had issues yet.

    • My orders were tracked but the cashback wasn't paid, they claim it was rejected by Temu. They sneakly rejected the cashback - it vanishes from your " Tracked" cashback with no notification or email. You need to check it manually on the app. I only realized because it was $80.

  • +1

My recent order was completely untracked and later rejected by the support team without any clear or convincing explanation. They simply claimed I didn't follow the steps, which is unacceptable — I placed the order exactly the same way I always have.

This experience was extremely disappointing and has completely broken my trust in ShopBack. I used to be a regular user and even recommended it to others, but after this, I can no longer recommend it at all.

    • I just received this email from Shopback. Temu declined to pay it… but Shopback picked up the tab. None of their cases applied…

  • Yeah I moved to Cashrewards, AUS rewards are so much better for Aliexpress Temu Ebay etc. and they pay out to NZ Paypal so no issues.

    • Any issues with orders shipping to NZ for Aliexpress & TEMU? I had someone on OzBargain tell me it could be against the cashback T & C

      • Cashrewards dont exclude NZ in the terms and conditions.

      • Zero issues.

I even use other coupons for Aliexpress and the cashback is still valid, even though it says you're not supposed to use external coupons. I don't even empty the cart before buying and it still goes through without issues.

  • I recently made a purchase on cashrewards, and Temu. Tracked instantly. My experience with cash rewards has always been better in general.

    • The cashback rates are not as high.

      • Disagree. 2 weeks ago I was able to get 50% cashback from Temu and it wasn't capped. Just depends on the cashback promo at the time which can vary from cashback provider and also week to week.

Plus I'd rather know be assured that the cashback is tracked (I've had great experience over the past few years) even if it meant getting a lower rate.

  • If you follow the Temu link directly from the Shopback website, can you then, on that page, add things to your cart from your wishlist? or do you have to literally re search for everything you want to add to your cart?

    • I use the app rather than the website, I ensure no items are ticked in my cart, if they are I will untick them close page and click through from shopback again, select the items from my cart and proceed to checkout.

  • All my orders tracked via shop back approx $191 cashback. Thank you.
