At my local fresh choice quite a few pantry items were already 30% off making them cheaper than buying in store, then plus the 20 off 40 or 40 off 100 the discounts stacked with the 30% off at checkout so iv ordered and hopefully they are delivered as ordered will be really good prices

    • Thanks for this tip! I found the WW branded items (and some others) are 30% off so stocked up on tinned tomatoes, herbs etc. Also 40% off butter so it was like $6 a block! ($6.294 specifically)

  • Four Square is also part of the grocery offer.

Alcohol prices don't seem much cheaper than other retailers . Must inflate the prices then knock 20% off and say you're getting a good deal…

Be wary of substitutions with freshchoice etc, they are charged at whatever price them item is listed at(ie you order a loaf of bread for $1.90 and its out of stock and they pick a $6 one, you get billed $6)

You can turn them off in the cart iirc

    • This actually blows my mind. You agree to pay $20 for example, and enter your credit card details. They then can replace the items and just charge $60 if they like for the replacements. And that option is on by default, surely can't be legal.

      • Thats my understanding anyway, I might be wrong and someone can correct it.

When I did an order months ago the person was picking the order and the site was giving me live options to accept/decline substitutes with the higher prices listed and no feedback if it would be billed at that price. I might have made an assumption on the billing but why give you the price if you don't pay extra.

Na you're correct, it happened to me. I had no idea the substitutions thing existed so after a few wtf emails to them I got a refund.

@Jizah: this happened to me, I tried to look turn substitutions off and didn’t see the option to anywhere. They also replaced wheatmeal bread with white bread and charged me extra, Uber Eats is saying I approved it, so disappointing. I’m sure this is also illegal.

          • @Jizah: What email address did you email too? I'm using the Help support and the people there aren't understanding anything.

            • @Huntakillaz: Yeah I just used the Help with my order section in the app. I think I then also tried doing it via the web browser. It was a very annoying process but I just kept at it.

Something to watch out for though if you turn substitutions off and opt for refund rather than substitution - if it means that your total order falls under the amount required for promotion, you don't get the promotion. This happened to me the other day - I had made an order for slightly over $40 to get the $20 off, and opted for refunds rather than replacements on all items. One of the items I ordered was out of stock, so I got charged full price for the remainder and the 20 off 40 promotion did not apply at all. I would never have ordered full price items from four square over ubereats - the only reason I ordered in the first place is that the $20 off $40 meant that even with delivery it was slightly cheaper than just going to the supermarket, so I was pretty annoyed to have to pay full price.

      • fight it with support for sure, they should credit the difference

  • Just wondering. I'm a Uber one member… The ticket for Lilo and stitch. Requires a Partners in ciniema code in order to receive the $1 tickets… Its says it will appear on the movie digital screen? Can someone please explain cause I dunno hahahah thanks!

    • This is for when you are at the cinema and want to purchase discounted uberone tickets on the app.
The code will be displayed on top of the digital display, where the movie times are listed, at the cinema.

  • totally would not recommend ordering at Fresh Choice , their tactics are so dodgy. Uber Eats won’t even refund me for broccolis that have gone off ;)))

  • Pretty good result for me.

    $100 order + $5 delivery
    - $40 = $65 delivered
two items couldn't be found (had substitution turn on but no replacement was made)
    = $46.95 delivered

  • I made an scheduled order that ~$110 with the promos so with $40 off it'd come to around $73.89
But my order came today but they've not applied the promos as my uberone ended today too, now they're asking for another $80+ on top of the 73 i already paid because they're charging me at full rate, i messaged support but they've just sent a generic message about the benefits of uberone, not anything with the actual overcharge.

    Anyone had this happen?
