  • Have 3 (not absurd, given the number of petrol powered vehicles and garden tools I have). Great for stocking up on discount days. Pays for itself pretty quickly.

    • Are you happy with the quality? I'm thinking of buying three for the same purpose. The second hand 20l fuel cans on Marketplace are around $25.

Yeah, good enough. A common problem with all plastic jerry cans are the spouts, I have one that started to leak after a couple of years of regular use. This one is a bit fiddly but it does the job.

    • Some people just use share tank

I haven't used z for about a year. Their prices are always a lot higher than npd and mobil.

        • Yeah, exactly this. Consistently at least 10 cpl more expensive than the cheapest competitor, but often 30-50cpl more.

Check how much you are legally allowed to store, because when I looked it was a 50l limit for households, that was some time ago and things only ever get more restrictive.

      • Thanks, I didn't think about that. Just asked Grok and this is what he said:

Households can store up to 50 litres of petrol without requiring a location compliance certificate.
        Additional Safety Requirements:
Petrol must be stored in approved containers made of metal or durable plastic that won’t react with the fuel (e.g., polystyrene dissolves in petrol, so it’s unsuitable).
Containers should be filled to no more than 95% to allow for thermal expansion.
Store petrol in a well-ventilated, secure outbuilding (e.g., a shed or garage) away from living areas, direct sunlight, or ignition sources like gas heaters or electrical sockets.
Avoid long-term storage (over 3 months), as petrol can become stale, affecting engine performance.

Ah yes, ahem, I actually only have two and a half jerry cans, if anyone's asking.
