We must be related. I hear you!

Some of those restos are in firsttable.co.nz, so you could double-dip in discounts - just make sure you spend over $150 - which is pretty easy-ish with 4 people dining.
Here are the ones for Auckland in firsttable.co.nz.
- Andiamo
- Baduzzi
- Bar Magda
- Cazador
- Culprit
- Giraffe
- KOL
- Lilius
- Paris Butter
- Sidart
- Somm
- The French Cafe
- The Grove Restaurant- 14

Tried to see if christchurch the same and nome are first table and in the list.

How did I not know about this website!!!!!
A big thank you :)- 0

Wonder if you can grab a gift card instead and the discount still works? Only 2 of us, so will probably need to only spend around $75 in total per meal with the discount on first table or entertainment book. Assuming that the gift card can be used when dining on first table or entertainment book.

If it's all one transaction, it should work
- 0

Yep - not all places will have gift cards available though. It has to be in-store too, if you buy a gift card online you run the risk of it being executed by a 3rd party merchant.

We went to Lilian Ponsonby for dinner last Monday but it was fully booked, so I bought $150 gift voucher as the promo is finishing this weekend. Got $30 back plus $5 for shop small too. They charge 1.1% surcharge on all credit cards lo.

Good to know they do gift cards in store. Many now don’t.

did you go in person or do it over the phone / email for the gift voucher? live out east and don't wanna make the drive if possible
- 0

@Nzfade: In person. Paid on 14th but cleared on Amex app on 16th. So maybe it's a bit late to use it today if they don't clear before the promotion finish, you might not get $30 back.
- 1

@Nzfade: My understanding is you just need to make/complete the transaction by the end of today or whenever the merchant closes.
I couldn't find in the t&c stating the payment needs to be billed/cleared by the merchant? Every merchant has different billing policy and various in length so wouldn't be fair to the customer to particle the promo on the last day.

@zqsn: It’s risky. I’ve had to contact Amex in the past because I made the transaction on the last day and the business didn’t have a good process in place.

Anyone knows if this stacks with the Amex Gold or Amex Platinum restaurant credit?
- 1

Ill let u know, testing it out Saturday night.
- 2

Yes it can. Just checked.
- 1

How does it work with all these credits? For example, if only spending $150 at a participating restaurant with Amex Gold, $100 will be "deducted" thus not qualify for this spend $150 and get $30 back?
- 0

$150 spent at a participating restaurant for Amex gold will show as a $150 line item transaction.
This will trigger both benefits as the $100 and $30 credit isn’t applied against the $150 spend, it’s a separate line item completely.

Can also stack some of these with entertainment book voucher as some are in the book

Here are some the Auckland restaurants in the entertainment book. Please add if I missed any.
Bar Magda
Harbourside Ocean Bar Grill
Paris Butter
The Grove- 2
