SodaStream Spirit Mega Pack $89 + $8 Delivery ($0 with $150 Spend) @ SodaStream

40

They have a 40% off sale but seem to be clearing out Spirit. The mega pack comes cheaper than the basic one.

I believe Spirit is their older model with old style gas bottle connector. Which is exactly what I'm after as my old sodastream is leaking gas and I would need to replace the hose for the new type connector. I have a 6kg bottle connected.

Shipping free for over $150 spend otherwise circa $10.

I thought there would be one and I'm not disappointed…

While I share the sentiment and the situation in the middle east is abhorrent, this is not the forum to express one's feelings on the subject.

We all choose who to support with our money. International law is not optional, it's law.

          Well said

      • While I agree that this is not a forum to "express one's feelings" I think you and all the people that down voted the comment missed the point that is being made.

In the same way that we can talk about the quality or longevity of a product, or how good/bad the post sales services of the brand are, we should be able to state how ethical a given brand is. And it is then up to the person buying to make the choice.

        • Exactly, we would ethics not matter. Just to reemphasise, this isn't a matter of ethics, it's a legal obligation. The ICJ has found that the occupation of Palestine is not legal therefore the products made in the occupied territories are tainted and not legal. The western governments are not enforcing this ruling because thats what they do but it's still a legal obligation.

  • For the 6kg CO2 bottle you have connected where do you get an adapter that (I guess) you need to connect to the sodastream?

    • Just Google sodastream hose adapter. You'll find one. I brought mine when I came back from a stint in Australia. In the process discovered that Australian CO2 cylinders are not legit in NZ. So have a perfectly good 9kg one that no one wants to fill for me. Had to buy a 6kg locally. Quite expensive in NZ but pays for itself in a year or two…

      • Curious where to buy the 6kg and how much to refil?

  • May be a 5 kg bottle. Think I bought from nzwelders.co.nz. Similar from prolineindustrial.co.nz with stated free delivery.

Nzwelders say it's $35+gst to fill. I tend to fill at a brewery supply shop for around $65. They claim to be food grade although I can't imagine why some CO2 would be different from another. I'm guessing they all use the same device to get CO2. The guy in the welding shop was highly skeptical about the being any difference and I used gas the bottle came with no problem.

    • 5kg CO2 cylinder is $308+GST and can only collect from the chch show room (long drive from akld). Wonder if there is another way and cheaper - always toyed with the idea of using an adapter and a bottle - didnt realise the bottles were so pricey however.

  • Wonder if these are good to fit to a sodastream unit - with an adapter and regulator - https://www.thetoolshed.co.nz/product/42886-toolshed-gas-co2…
