Do you have the terms and conditions handy OP

    • Updated with link to T&C.

$40 for 5gb per month :( no thanks. I'm still waiting for the Kogan mobile deal for this year. Mine expired September.

    • Same

    • I'm still waiting for the Kogan mobile deal for this year.

Last time I was with Kogan, I got a physical SIM, but that was some years ago (might have been 2020, but not sure).

Do you know if they do eSIM now?

      • Still no eSIM in NZ yet with Kogan.

  • +2

Three months of 100GB via eSIM for free. Then quit. Tempting. Don't even need it. On a work phone 😄

    • I don't see any catch in T&C. I need a sim for someone visiting NZ for a month and this is perfect with esim.

  • How do I set up and use Voicemail with Kiwi Mobile?

Currently we don't offer voicemail. When we were building all our clever stuff for the launch of Kiwi Mobile we left this till last. Voicemail is planned to launch late September. For now, if a call to your Kiwi Mobile isn't picked up after multiple rings, it will terminate.

    • For now, if a call to your Kiwi Mobile isn't picked up after multiple rings, it will terminate.

      Pity about that.

They could have just let you set an alternative number that the call would divert to if not answered, and that would suffice for many people.

    • What's voicemail? I mean it's 2024 today - most clever people have disabled that by now. Nobody uses that.

      • +1

        I'm a relic then 😅

        • Me too!
          I’m obviously not clever either.

          • @bigcheese: Its actually a really good way to sift the wheat from the chaff after you've already gotten your job applicants down from a hundred to ten (many of which look similar on paper), and you only want to interview, say, three or four.

Call, and if they don't pick up, you can't leave a voicemail, or if they don't call back, disregard them.

You won't be missing much :-)

        • Try it guys, you never look back!

(sorry, didn't mean to offend, that was said as a joke! ;-)

          • @nzoutdoors: Nah you're all good. I would use live voicemail or voicemail to text if it were available to me, but no luck by the look of things (One NZ on work phone).

    Interesting 2degrees MVNO not Vodafone/One.nz

    • Same as Warehouse Mobile

      • Yeah Warehouse seems to not really change the plan offerings but it is cheap if you need a really low amount.
this dynamic pricing model is certainly interesting.

I thought of giving it a go, but its asking for credit check , personal details so not keen at all to join

    • Its a postpaid plan so expected when you aren't paying upfront.

  • Just in time to port those contact esims that had 3 months three over and give it a try as a second Sim card. By the time this runs out hopefully mighty mobile black friday is back 🤣

    • +1

Was thinking of you when this deal was posted after seeing your comment here 😄

      • I can't be the only one rotating second Sim cards with unlimited data when these deals are falling exactly 3 months apart like this. Definitely easier keeping the cheapo prepaid plan running for consistency though.

Has anyone joined as a new customer and Primary Account Holder?

Were you charged the non-refundable initial deposit of $4.99 plus any payment surcharge?

Electric Kiwi - General Mobile Terms and Conditions

    Initial deposit

    8.23
When you become a Primary Account Holder or your payment method, you authorise us to make a Direct debit of $4.99 within five days from your nominated bank account or credit/debit card for our security and verification purposes. This deposit will be credited against your next invoice and is non-refundable.

    • were you?

      • Yes.

        • Is there any others catch you found? Are you planning to cancel after 3 months? I am thinking to switch my current number to and add a buddy (my partner) and we both have 3 months free, and port back to Kogan after that.
