  Oil prices are falling off a cliff now that OPEC couldn't agree on a production cut, IIRC their last meeting ended in acrimony.

    fracking in USA has led to less demand from them. With Iran coming on board shortly expect prices to fall for longer. OPECs strategy is to smother competition and slow down companies like Tesla and BYD motoring.

      I agree the resilience of Shale and Iran definitely played a major part, as well as mild winters in the Northern Hemisphere, poor global economic growth, geopolitical rivalry within OPEC etc. The Saudi government's finances are getting hammered (Don't forget they're fighting a war in Yemen) to the point where they need oil prices to recover, but if the likes of Iran wouldn't cooperate then there's no way the Saudis would back down, simply on pride alone.

      If only the Kiwi dollar is stronger…

  I think fuel prices are $1.509 per Litre in most East Auckland stations thanks to Gull

    I wished BP was $1.50 too because it would have been sweet if combined with AA Smartfuel card for a further 10cents off, but BP is $1.60/ltr

      Gull Kingsland was $1.599 at lunchtime, and BP Mt Roskill (my regular) was $1.719 ($1.619 with Smartfuel). so a saving of 2c a litre.

      I did get an additional petrol voucher from Gull though. IIRC it's $5 off with $50 purchase in petrol.
