My current BNZ credit card is linked to Flybuys, which, as you may know, is discontinuing its services in New Zealand. I am interested in a card that provides similar or better benefits.
Could you please recommend some options that are well-suited for someone who frequently uses their credit card for a variety of purchases?

Ah thats right. For some reason i kept thinking $75.
This allowed me to pay rates with the card and still "gain" rewards
How? Auckland council fees are 1.75% but the reward rate is 1.42%.

Highly recommend this Card. Gives very good benefits for such low price. Such as price protection, purchase protection and domestic and international insurance.

I am guessing you mean FlyBuys (else it would have been national news if BNZ you'd think), but I had not heard that myself.

Seems like BNZ have already addressed this:
“For BNZ Advantage Visa credit card customers earning Flybuys, we’ll switch you over to our BNZ Rewards programme. This will be before Flybuys closes, and we’ll be in touch to let you know before you’re switched over.”

I have an anz account and a debit card. The fee is $10 per year for both. No rewards but minimal fees and super simple. Maybe that only apeals to some but its way better than my last account which was $11 a month

I have an eftpos cheque account and a debit card for the same account. And only charged one $10 a year fee. Pretty close to free
The American Express Airpoints Card is great, earn Airpoints Dollars with no annual Card fee. $100 spend = 1 Airpoints Dollar. We use it for everything we can, have a Kiwibank Visa with no fee for anything else.
I guess depends on what "reward" that you're after and how much you're spending so you get more than the annual fee.
For cashback, the best would be TSB platinum mastercard which would give you $1 every $75 purchase (1.33% rate) and attract $90 annual fee.
However CCCFA makes it harder to apply for credit card compared to, say, 2020.
