I was looking for a large screen e-ink tablet that come with a pen, either Kindle Scribe or Kobo Elipsa 2E, but the Kindle Scribe does not support CBZ(zipped images) format and Elipsa 2E never on sale.

This Lenovo runs android can side load apps through SD card. Which might be more useful than the above models, and it is half price of what it is selling in NZ.

  • I had a look at this tablet but people were really mad Lenovo missed out on making it a real Android e-ink tablet.
Boox seems to be the best one in the market…now to find a bargain is a different story. Good one, OP. :)

  • Does anyone know if you can use Libby (the public library lending app) on this? If not, that's a bit a of a deal breaker for me.

    • Most likely, there's an Android app for it

  • I love the idea of these od tese as I'm a note taker

There is a product on Amason, Rocketbook selling for about $50au. It's marketed as a reusable notebookused with an app to save data.

Might try that first before I commit to somethubg like this.

Sounds like you might get on better with writing notes than you do with a keyboard :P

        Fair point.

Fat fingers and not proof reading my mind farts are probably not the best combo!!

  • I just received mine today.

Sorry I made a mistake in the original post, there is no SD card slot on this device. It has built-in google drive and I can confirm it does install APKs in Google Drive. I tried few APKs downloaded from APKMirror all working fine(use arm64-v8a APKs).

I also installed Total Commander with LAN plugin to access home NAS, much easier and faster to upload/download files wirelessly than google drive.

The writing is quite good, feel like writing on paper, very low latency, even lower than 1st gen Surface Book. The screen is Wacom compatible, so I tested the pen from 1st gen Surface and it does work, even can erase writing using the eraser side of the pen, but the pen come with the tablet does not have eraser :-(

APPs runs very well, whole speed is much faster than Kindle Paper White 3 and Kobo Aura One. This NZ$400 is very well spent.

  • This deal is over now - showing up as $499 and "cannot be shipped to your location."
