    No you’re not doing anything wrong.

    When the eBooks first go free on Amazon these titles are available without a Kindle Unlimited subscription. However after a certain period of time (or number of downloads) this changes and they are free no longer.
    The list of books is published on a number of websites worldwide so it can sometimes be the case that a book is no longer free even when the list has just been posted here.
    You need to be quick and also check that it is still without charge when you download as it might end up costing you.

    Another good place to look is https://www.hotukdeals.com/ which has a huge number of free books as well as other deals. In fact the site seems to have more free book deals than any other type of deal.
    A lot of the time you can find the same title for free on Amazon AU as Amazon UK by simple changing the .co.uk to a .com.au address
