I'm not in the market for a new mower but that is really cheap.

If anyone spots this at other stores then I might give my local a shot 🤔

what does it mean by skin only

  • +1

Is this the battery & charger that go with the Lawnmower?
    Makita 18V 6.0Ah Li-ion Battery BL1860B $228 each
Makita Rapid Twin Charger 14.4-18V LI $304

    $200+$228+$228+$304=$960

Yes. (Note that makita makes lots of differnt battery sizes) However the makita 18v platform is one of the most popular power tool battery platforms on the market, so a lot of people already have batteries and chargers.

Also power tool batteries & chargers are generally available much cheaper on secondary market places. Can get 2x 5.0Ah battereis and a charger (single 5 Amp), both new for $349 off Facebook marketplace.

Also note that makita has a 2x battery (5Ah) + duel charger kit:

      $665 from a mainstream retailer:

      $578 form a smaller supplier:

      • Awesome thank you!

        • I purchased a new lawnmower kit with new 5ah batteries and a dual charger if anyone was interested. Will have two more when the redemption comes through too. I already have plenty batteries and charger for work.

          • @Joshyss: I could be interested. I was one of the lucky ones that managed to get one of these Lawnmowers after being in the market for a Lawnmower for a while - and now need to buy batteries & a charger for it.

            • @djinksta: PM me, I can’t seem to be able to PM you.

We bought our Makita for around the $800 mark a couple of years ago, it came with the 2 batteries and dual charger, and a bonus 2 batteries by redemption as well. So if you are looking at $600 for chargers and batteries then the kit might be a better deal.

      • is it the same battery as the Ozito 18v?

        • +1

          definately not

If you go into the makita eco system often with tools you can get batteries and chargers with or via redemption, we've sold our 2.0ah 3.0ah & 4.0ah batteries and single chargers and used to money to get more 6ah batteries, got a dual charger via redemption

  • Any idea if Mitre10 or other stores could pricematch? I doubt it given its a single store clearance.

    • Probably not but no harm in asking

Was only 2 ever in stock and sold out hours ago.

  • Saw some Victas' on clearance too at my local stores. Super low tempting prices but skin only, and I cant find decent batteries anywhere. Victa the company has gone bust I think. Will suit someone if they have loads of Victa batteries already.
