  • Trying to find the difference between this one and the all popular ones that are frequently posted here. It says its newer and quieter. Anything else changed or missing?

    • +1

      way longer hose,
      maybe bigger tank?

    • +2

From what I can see it has larger tanks, longer hose, automatically mixes water and detergent so don't have to premix, and this also enables a rinse mode. Other's you'd have to empty the tank and fill with clean water only to do a rinse.

      • Great catch. That seems like a great improvement all around then - and the old one was really popular at $160-180.

edit: Heads are different. Other one had 3x heads rotating on the triangle. This one has

        • 3 Inch Tough Stain Brush

        • 6 Inch Tool

        • Hydrorinse™ Self-Cleaning Hose Tool

So you use the triangle one but gain two options of the more common flat shape and a cleaner.

        • yeah i have the original one, and hose length alone on this model is worth it

  • On the topic of Bissell spotclean, do you guys use their formula past the sample bottles that they gave you or use alternatives/pure hot water?

    • I have, but only when it became on special, and was a better deal than normal liquid.
I'm not sure of the cleaning difference, the water is still gross irrespective of what formula I add.

The only thing I would add is that the official stuff doesnt seem as soapy as other brands.

      • Cheers. I see JB have them on special atm for $18: https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/products/bissell-spotclean-spot-sta…. Not sure what's the "standard" pricing.
The only other one that I see are quite cheap is from heathcotes: https://www.heathcotes.co.nz/products/bs62e5-bissell-fibre-c…, but need to be delivered.

@Foodie: This stuff is good, especially compared to the Rug Doctor equivalent

          • @Foodie: can that be used with the spotclean machine? it says only the green machine on the picture.

            • @spam: Yes, I've used it interchangeably. I wonder if they mention that stuff so they get you to buy 20x different combinations of cleaner liquid, or it stops people buying out the green machine liquid, so that people hiring the machines always have liquid they can buy.
I've also used more generic cleaning liquids but it foams more and is a bit stronger smelling.

              I don't have a green machine, I have;
              https://www.smithscity.co.nz/bissell-3631f-2x-revolution-pet…
              &&
              https://www.harveynorman.co.nz/home-appliances/vacuums-and-f…

I just follow the fill guides on the machines to get the correct mixture ratio.
If you are really concerned about it, just get the spot clean stuff. It will just cost a bit more if you are cleaning often.

I had a sick dog and a sick vomity cat, so I used them quite often.
Lately I just now use the carpet cleaner, don't have as many spot clean requirements.
Small ones are handy as they don't need as much cleaning up afterwards. Large one does a better job though.

              • +1

@Foodie: I have the same orange one that you linked the harveynorman one. Used it to clean up kids vomit, pee, etc.

Looks like i might keep an eye on thewarehouse and see when it drops the price.
                Thanks

  • Thank you! Have been looking for one and you reminded me that this is a good opportunity to get one.
Anyone has this? Looks like it might be one of the newer model but it is already on clearance list! Red flags perhaps? But if it just a good deal, I want it!
Not much reviews online that I could find…. Any advice much appreciated. Thank you.

    • I have the older version, and get used a lot since I have toddlers: when they had accident or vomit on carpet, sofa, etc. Picked up the yuck easily.

Can even use it to pick up the spilled water on carpet too. Better than towel I must say.

  • I recently bought the SpotClean Turbo model. I wonder which is better?

    • The turbo is the best one

  • i saw godfrey selling the little green machine for $199 too

  • Thank you, need this after all the kids have spilled on the couch. Only 1 left now

    • I went on, left and came back and now it doesn't say how many they have left? I'm wondering if it's just to pressure people to buy first time they visit.

      • Yeah I noticed that too. I wondered if first was store stock and now it's just from distribution centre.

  • How do these compare to the full carpet cleaners which have the spot attachments? Are those just as good for the spots as this does?

    • +2

we have a full size bissel cleaner.
its awesome for the carpets but a real PITA when wanting to do a small clean up (kids, dog etc)
Ordered this as hoping its much easier for the quick cleans
