AMD Ryzen 7 3700X $286.35 + Delivery @ PB Tech

20

Really big price drop on the CPU. I am not too sure how this CPU is holding up in 2023 but feel free to do CPU comparison using the websites below

https://www.cpubenchmark.net/singleCompare.php

According to the below 5700x which is a newer model seems to be around 15% better than 3700x . It costs $33 more than 3700x if you want to go with that option

the 5700x is only $320, that is a better deal.

    • This seems better (integrated graphics + cooler) for $299?

        Two good options.

The 5700G edges out the 3700X in every metric, including having an IGP (which everyone scoffs at, then laments when they sell their GPU before they've bought a new one). And the 5000 series are the last gen to fit AM4 (but not all MBs support it, definitely need a BIOS update if you're on an older chipset). Motherboard incompatibility is probably the only reason to get the 3700X over either of those.

5700X is a significant increase in CPU performance (but no IGP).

I would point out that the latter also has overclocking but no one really bothers anymore.

Better if you need integrated graphics, but the CPU bit is a bit cut-down compared to the former… half the L3 cache, and most importantly, limited to PCIe 3.0 I/O vs. PCIe 4.0 on 5000 Vermeer chips : https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-5700g/

  • No point; too expensive. I have the 3700x and I'm sick of it.
IT IS super fast, but the boost clocks are annoying to set a fan curve for as its temp will fluctuate on this generation.
Also feel like for gaming its starting to fall behind compared to other newer cpu's.
Much better off with a similar R5 5600.
