I was able to claim.
I checked the prices of a few things compared to Chemist Warehouse. Couldn't directly compare like for like but the equivalents at Chemist Warehouse are cheap enough to make this deal not worth it. Way more range too.

Unlikely to work on a US issued card. Amex offers are usually country specific.
