They have been around for ages. I grabbed a couple of co2 cannisters from them ages ago when they were on a decent special with the view to using them longer term but the ongoing pricing didn't make sense long term and have remained with Sodastream which can be grabbed locally often on special and/or pricematched (so the oh bubbles cannisters have remained in storage).

There are adapters out there for Sodastream to normal cylinders. I'd personally pick the ones that have a flexible pipe that can connect to a larger cylinder(you can get these from any gas suppliers, ie Rockgas), seen some on Trademe and AliExpress etc
Any specific models and combos you would recommend? Quite a lot of choices out there and researching this is gonna be painful.

can someone tell me more about this product, are the bottles 1 litre? does anything need to replaced to keep getting sparkling water cause i notice there is gas cylinders on the website too, i drink sparkling water from the supermarket everyday, i didnt even know a product like this existed,turning normal water into sparkling
The bottle is 1L and it uses a 60L gas canister to create the bubbles. Once your gas canister is emptied, you'll need to buy another one or get your existing one refilled. Looks like you can buy the refill from here:

Let's assume you buy 1 gas canister bottle for $50 (https://ohbubbles.co.nz/products/gas-cylinder-spare-60-litre…), then it means it'll cost you $0.83 per litre of sparking water that you make. I'm not sure what's the price of 1L of sparking water in Countdown (CBF checking), but I bet it's probably cheaper to use this product than to buy sparking water. And if you buy more than 1 gas canister, you'll get better prices. Unsure about shipping cost though.
I'm just waiting for the day when I don't have to buy replacement gas canisters, which will probably never arrive because how else would the companies make money? One can only dream though.
On a per litre basis, it's probably cheaper to buy soda water from the supermarket. (My pak n save has ValueSoda Water for $1.22 for 1.5 litres, so about 80c per litre).
I find sodastrem better for two reasons though: 1. I usually cant get through a 1.5 litre bottle before it goes flat, 2. I dont have a car, and getting a gas bottle home by bike or on foot once every few months is way easier than lugging bottles of soda water home every week.Serious question… have you never heard of Soda Stream? I thought everyone knew of it?
As per the good advice from @NovaAlpha, just a note that Soda Stream (which is a different brand/competitor to Oh Bubbles) have gas canisters that are more widely available and you can exchange an empty canister for a full one at places likes supermarkets and hardware stores.
It's only $27 to exchange with Soda Stream so much cheaper that Oh Bubbles for a new canister.
On the site it says the Oh Bubbles are soda stream compatible so I guess you can also just use soda stream bottles.
You can also exchange cannisters with Oh Bubbles. By the looks of it if you exchange 4 bottles it's $105 with free shipping so pretty much the same as exchanging a sodastream. It looks like an exchange is only $23 at Smith City.
You can get an adapter to use with paintball cannisters.
This guy in Wellington sells an adapter for $75 and a paintball cannister for $65.
