Large 15GB 365 Days Prepay Plan $165 (for Members That Are Already on The Large Plan) @ Kogan Mobile

330

Posted due to the fact that it's unnecessary to pay $330 for 2 accounts then asking for split if you want 15GB per 30 days for 365 days plan.
You can just pay $165 for 1 account.

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click Renew or purchase a Prepay Plan.
  3. Click I would like to purchase a Prepay Plan now.
  4. Click Choose another prepay plan.
  5. Set the duration to 365 days, and you will see $165 for 15GB every 30 days as part of the 365-day deal

  • Do you need to wait till your current Kogan plan nears expiry or does it add on top of the existing?

    • +1

You will lose any data remaining in your current plan when you renew.

      • So it fully reset to another year from renewal and wipes clean any existing days left that you currently have…

        • +1

Right. I would suggest you to renew when the current plan near expiry or when run out of data.

  • I have a plan expiring Jan 2024 so i am curious to know how this would impact the existing plan

    • +2

You will lose any data remaining in your current plan when you renew.

      • It would have been awesome if it just extended the expiry date to say Jan 2025!!.. but I guess will have to wait for Christmas /EOY Sale

  • +4

Not working for me, the cost I get is $330 - https://ibb.co/d4xkrQP

    • After you click purchase a prepay plan - click choose another prepay plan - Choose Prepay Plan Length to 365 and it will show a new option.
you can only choose 30 days or 365.

  • +1

    Not working for me either.

  • +3

    Be careful!

Adding something to cart automatically opts you into Kogan First - they'll charge you $150 if you don't untick the box. Someone I know just got charged. If you don't give the money back I think we'll end up lodging a commerce commission complaint as it's extremely predatory.

    • +1

Happened to me when I purchased something for $5 I contacted support over a week ago no response. The irony here being that now as a Kogan first member I'm meant to receive priority support….

  • +1

It only works for people who are already on the large plan. If u are on small plan, u can only renew small plan.

  • +1

This will only work if your current plan was purchased for 50% off at the time

    • This is the answer I think. I got buy one get one free and no 50% off option.

      • I take that back just needed to change the duration to 365 days. Getting a voucher anyway as due to renew next month.

  • +1

I mentioned this earlier this year (on the General Discussions, not as a deal).

    https://www.cheapies.nz/node/37091

    • People should be careful, as OP has stated, you will lose the remainder of your plan if you renew via this method.

Should only do it when your original 365 days is nearly finished.

  • +3

Any idea when this expires? I can’t see it anywhere. The renew deal not the BOGOF deal.

    • I'm wondering this too - maybe it expires the same date as the BOGOF deal?

      • I wondering this to. My current plan expires mid Sept, so is it better to wait until then and hope the half price offer is still available, or just get the BOGOF and finds someone to share it with

        • I'm in the same boat as you. Large plan expiring 17th Sep. Maybe we could split the BOGOF, for more certainty? Don't know until when the half price offer is available, and if it does expire on 27th Aug (and I renew on that date), then I'll lose half a month!

        • Seems like buying the BOGOF is less risky. I tried asking Kogan re: the expiry but they were about as helpful as a wet paperbag

  • Hi OP
Is this deal for new customer or existing customers only?

    Thanks

    • +2

Existing. It works with whatever plan you had prior.

Had big? You can get the big plan half price by following the instructions.

    • Existing customers. I've had the account for 3 years.

    • +1

But new customers may be able to get this deal if they join the first month $5 for 15GB https://www.kogan.com/nz/buy/kogan-mobile-prepay-mobile-star…

      • No, unfortunately.

My 365 day large plan is offering me the renewal for $165.

My $5-first-month plan is only offering me renewals at the full prices.

You'll have to do the 2-for-1 deal with a friend or someone here.

  • I’ve tried to sign up to it following the very clear and helpful instructions in the original post but it’s not there on the app or desktop site anymore. I wonder if it was an error and they’ve taken it down?

    • It's still showing for me.

As the previous comments have mentioned, this only works for people who were already on the large plan and bought it for 50% off previously.

      • It should work for any plan they were on. Condition is they should have bought 50% off previously. I have a medium plan active for another device and have 50% off on medium plan.

  • This should be good for any existing plan (Small, medium, large) which had 50% off offer from previous deals.

This is how it looks for Medium plan for me https://ibb.co/B6BcCQ5

    • Sucks that I can't jump from the per month plan to the 365 day plan for 1/2 price :(

    • That's weird, looks like it's showing both the full and half price for the medium plan

      • Which one did you go for?

        • I bought a Large BOGOF deal before I knew about the renew feature

  • I am currently on a large 30-day plan, is it possible for me to renew for a year at 50% off? I don't seem to see the option.

    • Neither, I think it's only if you're on a 365 day plan the moment, argh I just went on monthly plan a couple of days ago

  • I am already on the 15GB plan monthly. I just renewed bought it 3 days ago for $35 or whatever it is. I don't see the option for $166 for a year only $330 a year? Also does anyone know when it expires as I am only 3 days into my plan haha.

    • Only people who signed up for B1G1 offer initially will have 50% off option. OP doesn't specify that he already was on that plan.

      More on that here

  • Wondering if i should just jump on this now incase it's a glitch?

12days remaining on last years plan 😜

  • It seems not working now. I couldn't see the half-price renew plan. I could see it yesterday but not today. Still have the last b1g1 plan until September.

  • Yes, I'm now seeing the same as 6superboys above. It appears they simply withdrew that half price 365 day plan option suddenly this evening. My current medium BOGOF 365 day plan expires in September, but I was planning to purchase & lock it in early on that "August 27th" date. Strange pricing - customer care behaviour, even for Kogan !….. :(

  • I'll buy a voucher off someone if they have one spare, don't need the sim card.

    • What size of plan are you after?

      • The Large-15gb

        • Happy to buy and split if you are keen?

          • +1

@Shay84: Yup keen., just PM me your bank details and we'll go from there

            • @Jizah: Fantastic, have just sent it through.

  • If anyone else wants to go in on a deal let me know. I can't get the renewal to work at half price so will have to buy the double plan

  • Can confirm its also been removed for me. I had the option to renew a few days ago, but I no longer do.

I was on the black Friday 50% off plan, not the BOGOF

  • Hi OP / Tripseagull. Please amend the now "expired" status , or atleast use an update, as the actual BOGOF Kogan mobile birthday promo (2 large 365 day plans for half price, $330) has NOT expired, it's still due to Kogan expire on August 27th midnight. !. Thanx.

    • That's posted here

      • Ok thanks. (But that arrangement is abit confusing thou).

  • I'm with their BOGOF plan since last year. what about I purchase the BOGOF plan thru their website again this time, as I'm pairing with my husband anyway. Then when I swith to this package, do I need to use a new phone number or I can keep this existing number? Does anyone know?

    • +1

You can keep your number when you buy the bogof deal they will send you two codes.

When your plan is about to expire just log into your account and enter one of the codes.

    • Discussed here already

  • I know this deal is expired but you guys seem the expert on kogan mobile. I've just started the process of transferring my son from skinny to kogan, on one of the monthly plans, I've used my email etc cos it's my credit card and I'll be setting up my daughter later in the year so I want to access it all from one place. It looks like the app is out of date it tells me that it is not compatible and is for an older version of android. Am I looking in the wrong place? Is it easier to use the Web portal? How will my son keep an eye on his data usage without an app?

    • +1

The app does work on iOS so I’m not sure why the Android version is showing non compatibility (I tested on a spare android phone I have and got the same message as you).
Their app is essentially just the website anyway so you can go to the login page and then save it to your Home Screen.

      • Their app, for both Android and iOS, is just running on WebView, which is similar to when you click on an ad in FB.
Compatibility will be affected by the default browser settings. There is no difference in opening it in a browser.
To resolve this issue, you have the following options:
        - Use a browser instead of Kogan Mobile's app.
        - Set a compatible browser as the default browser.

  • Would they have another 50% deal in Black Friday or Xmas time ?

    • +1

They did have 50% off in Nov and Dec last year but you can never be sure it will continue.
If you are due to end your current plan soon then a good option might be to jump on Contact with their open term, 3 months free offer with unlimited data. That way if Kogan does come around again then you can simply switch to them without penalty.
