Squirrel emailed me running a new referral deal, new accounts will get $100 in their Squirrel account (after they deposit $100), and referrer will get $50.

  1. Send your unique code to as many friends and family as you like.
  2. The first 10 people that sign up putting your unique code into the ‘special code’ box during the registration process and deposit $100 to their Squirrel On-Call Account will
    receive a bonus $100 in their Squirrel account.
  3. You’ll receive $50 into your Squirrel on-call account for the first 10 friends that make a deposit using your code, after they sign up and make their deposit.

If you are unfamiliar with Squirrel, they are a P2P lender, and you can invest in home loans, construction loans and personal loans with 7 - 8%pa return currently, they also pay 5.25% for any cash sitting with them not in a loan. They have a reserve fund, so if a loan defaults they will attempt to cover it, this isn't guaranteed as the fund could run out, but as of currently they have never run out.

    Anything preventing immediate withdrawal of the $200 as far as you're aware @IslandStyles ?
    Website says no withdrawal fees etc.

      doesn't say anything about it, just says might take about 1 week to get the bonus added to your squirrel account. Like any investment platform there is some normal AML processes like providing ID and such on sign up, took like a week for my account to get approved when I set it up earlier this year, but I didn't fill out all my details right away.

    People should be aware that even though these investments have historically been pretty safe are still a much higher risk than a term deposit at a bank. People who are taking these loans are taking them because banks wont loan to them for some reason. Of course if you can get a bunch of free money through referrals then that makes the risk more tolerable

      You can just keep funds in their On Call Account without doing an investment order, at the moment the interest rates for that are higher than a lot of TD but you aren't locked into anything

    Where does one find their referral code / link? I can't find it on the app or website when logged in lol

      My guess is because they don't run any referral program as default you wont find one, I had a quick look and couldn't see it. They emailed me my referral code to use along with "This offer has not been sent to everyone and it won’t be around for ever."

    I'm a Squirrel customer and have not received anything from them. Must be some sort of targeted campaign. I've had an account and invested with them for a little while now and they have done a great job so far. Great interest rates.

    I have sent out 10 codes, so I would suggest messaging one of the others listed under the referral and asking how many they have sent, it appears to be limited to 10 per referrer.

    Signed up and deposited on the 11th.
    Just go an email today saying my deposit has been processed and when I logged in the $100 referral bonus has also been credited to my account.

      Same here, in my case, I received two deposit confirmation emails. The first one was for my own $100 deposit after I signed up on the 11th, then I received another one today for the $100 referral bonus deposit.

    I've had 12 people use my code successfully, so the 10 person limit doesn't seem to apply. I have added my referral code back into the referral system if anyone wants to give it a try, they may fix it but so far looks like it might still work.
