Seconds means "good quality avos with either marks or slight imperfections which means we can't include them in our regular boxes".

In my experience the seconds is what the supermarket ones end up like once everyone's had a wee fondle.

  Seems pretty good at $4.302 a kilo without shipping, tho Countdown with its odd bunch can go down to $4 a kilo currently at $5 in various stores. But countdown doesn't always have odd bunches so defo a good alternative

    That prompted me to weigh the ones I just stocked up on at a PaknSave for $0.69ea: that would be roughly $5.60/kg so not as good as I thought it was at the time.

    I've personally had bad luck with the Odd Bunch avos, they don't seem to be consistently in stock and at least one of them turns out to be totally brown when I open it. But I also try avoid Countdown so haven't tried them too often.

  Paknsave is selling em at 49cents each.

  Don't know the weight but avocado isn't a fresh produce known to stay fresh for long. I'd imagine at 5KG a large amount will just get trashed

    An avo is about 100-150g for most of the ones available this time of year.

    I have bought this many before and kept them in the fridge. Got out 10 a week to put in the fruit bowl to ripen, barely lost any. They freeze well when ripe so no need to trash them.

    In my experience from GO. The avos come super raw like starting to ripen 2 weeks later

      Yes 9c for 1 avocado! slightly bigger than a lemon, but for that price I would not complain.

  Grower Outlet are avocados a great buy. Always good quality, even the seconds. The freight price is very low. You get alot for the price.

  What is the point of buying from them when you can get $1 for 2 at Pak N Save last week and 99c each for the super big ones at local fruit shop?

  I used to buy from them as I really want to buy directly from the supplier to cut the profit of the supermarket. However, it was an awful experience with very poor quality avocados on my last order before they stopped shipping their avocados last year.

  GO TO THE SUPERMARKET to pick your own avocados to avoid the poor quality avocados.

    The ones I got from Growers Outlet in the previous year have been fantastic, no stringy weird ones, no chalky gross ones. They did sometimes take time to ripen but that was it.

    For me the quality has been really good from both Grower Outlet and The Avo Tree.
    Yes, the supermarket prices can be cheaper but even when they look perfect I have found they lack the flavour of the ones direct from the grower.

    Same here! My last order with them were very poor quality. Definitely vote to buy directly at the shop so that you can pick your own and at least edible one 🥲

  Depending on your morals, you can also add this to your cart as a subscription which takes a further 10% off and use the discount code 1STSUB which takes another 20% (granted you use a new/throwaway email), and then just cancel your subscription later on. Ended up being $22.20 delivered for me.

  Last time I ordered the 5kg second box from Grower Outlet and ended up have to throw away most of them. Wrote a review on their website and it is never been public, probably only 5 ⭐️ reviews are allowed there 😅. Promise to myself that I would rather buy it in the supermarket or if anyone in Chch, better off to buy from Veggie Direct

    I just read some reviews for 5kg second box from their website. My review is not there. Still 100% 5stars reviews and I found I am not the only one 😄. I can say that they definitely delete bad reviews from customers.

      From my experience their 2nds are usually pretty good and I don't throw any of them away.

      I once found a cockroach in the box and got a partial refund after I raised the issue with support (doesn't really affect the avos tbh)

      Don't put your comments on their website, doggy sellers may delete your comments. Put your comments on google review. Many people like us will focus on reading negative reviews on google. They could get some other people to write good reviews but they can't delete the negative google reviews.

    See, there must be heaps of people with poor experience with their avocados but didn't get a chance to write here. I hope everyone who considers to shop with them will read our comments.
