Anyone with a cost+ discount can see wild swings in what cost is at any given time. I will note that it is not at all uncommon to see margin added or stripped to sell through particular units during these sale events.

Cost prices change all the time to sell through particular lines. They dont include some rebates too. A big example is the cost+gst macbooks. There isn't $200 markup on them normally, but at promo time there's suddenly $200. There's a two way convo with suppliers and stores sorting pricing and margin and sales incentives
staff discount at noel leeming is very similar to this offer but maybe 1/3rd of the time wasn't actually cheaper than competitors.

Per the ad they have added NL overhead costs in, and ignored any volume discounts they get for the cost equation. Obviously like anything pays to check pricing elsewhere before buying. Sometimes these deals can be good, other times periodic sales can be better. Just go in eyes wide open.

Got the starship one to accept but for some reason it adds the discount on to the total, rather then minusing it… Have tried all on here plus an extra one not published.
Had the same experience. Are you trying to use it on an item already on special?
Tried a random range of products, including items on special and not. Full priced items got the 'discount' amount added to the total, special items got a discount subtracted but the item reverted to full price and then got the discount which wasn't as good as the special price.
I think I'll wait until they sort them in due course.

It adds the discount for me instead of subtracting it.
There's a glitch in their system when ordering online the discount is adding to the total price. I just spoke to NL and they tell me their I.T. people are working on it.
Are people still having issues? Im not seeing storewide discounts online, and only select smart home products are having discount.

The discounts are working but there are so many exclusions that you will find a large number of products are not discounted at all or are already on 'special' and not discounted any further.
This is standard for these sort of cost plus offers from Noels.

I tried pricing a few different items (fridges and other bits) with many of the different cods listed in these comments and comparing the 'discounted price' with Harvey Norman, Harvie's is still cheaper with their regulars pricing.

I was looking at F&P fridges, and Harvey Normans discounted price is substantially better than NLs prices in all tests. So I can't see how these prices are cost plus 5%, they must have far higher costs than HN.
