Saw this in today's paper and it's not a bad deal.
Normally $18 for 1L and $55 for 5L. Stihl.
Bunnings has 1L Castrol for $12.
Mitre10 has 1L from $17.88.
I don't know enough about 2 stroke fuel to know the difference between Motomix and other brands.
I think this is a national deal. The Post has Porirua, Upper Hutt and Petone listed on the ad. Can only see a mention on Porirua's FB page. Best to maybe call up to see if they are running this promo at your local.
Yeah it took a second look but you're right, it looks like extremely overpriced premixed fuel, not 2 stroke oil. So the Bunnings and Mitre10 Castrol pricing is irrelevant.
Got the 5 L with my chainsaw for free and yes at more than four times the price of a your own two-stroke mix makes it very expensive ,advantage is long storage life and a bonus 5 L petrol container. At half price still too expensive unless you factor in the $15.00 5 L fuel container if you needed one.
I use this for my chainsaw which is specifically mixed for Stihl chainsaws. It has a shelf life of 2 years and doesn't stuff your saw when it's been sitting unused for a while.
Sure it's expensive but a 5lt lasts me 6 months.
Looks like it might be premixed fuel…but I'm not sure who would pay the normal price of $18 / litre for the small container? So I'm slightly confused
