$15 for Referrer, $15 for Referee (After Referee Adds $50 to Child Fund) @ SquareOne App (Money App for Kids)

Got this email from SquareOne on 2 June 2023:

For all of June & July, for every friend that joins SquareOne, both of you get $15 [normally it's $5]. It's like a big warm hug for both your wallets!
As soon as your friend tops up their first $50 of child funds, you both instantly get $15 from us, credited to your SquareOne parent wallets.

SquareOne is a subscription-based app (for iPhones and Android phones) that comes with a contactless card with a bank account for kids & youth. Description from Google Play:

How do we teach our kids about money? When they just see us tap our cards every day, it's impossible for them to connect the dots… Where does money come from? What's it worth in the real world, and how hard is it to get?

Enter SquareOne: Their first contactless card and account, with smart parental controls. Pocket money, jobs, savings… In a way they understand. We're a Kiwi team on a mission to empower our next generation, by helping them be great with money. We had to learn the hard way, so we want something better for our kids - and yours.

Only $4 / month to let your kids waste use their own money…

If they are old enough to know about it then they can just have their own child account at a real bank with a normal EFTPOS card for free…

    • We've had Kashin from ASB, free accounts from Kiwibank and ANZ, but SquareOne is where our kids actually started proper learning about money - how to earn it, see it accumulate and actually use it in a shop. We've been using SquareOne for just under a year (joined when it was actually free), but continued our subscription of $4 a month per family (not per child), because we are still getting a good value out of it. There's many features that banks are lacking, take a few like kids are able to see their own accounts on iPad without us getting involved, parents can set max limits, turn on internet or/and overseas purchases, changing pin number from the app because your kid forgot it again, being able to set up a stall to sell feijoas and accept credit card payments… that's just few to list. It is a great platform. We have no association with SquareOne other than using it (almost) daily. Anyway, have your opinion - no problem.
