  beatthatflight China Airlines! I sometimes claim the only reason it gets rated 4-star(skytraxratings.com) is because people get it confused with Air China ;) It's so comfortable and has such good service, in my limited experience across the Tasman on it.

  Do you mean China Airlines only gets 4-stars (rather than, say, 1-star) because people get it confused with Air China, and Air China is actually a 5-star airline?

  This comment from Mosby seems to backup the interpretation that your OP contains sarcasm, in that they are saying that Air China is really good.

  On the other hand, perhaps you are both being sarcastic, and the reality is that China Airlines is actually a 5-star airline, and Air China is actually a 1-star airline?

  Please can you disambiguate, for someone that has no experience with either Airline?

  "China airline" and "Air China" are different airlines. China airlines is bassed in Taiwan not mainland china, very different style of airline, more like Singapore airlines. People mix it up with air china which is not very nice "including myself in my previous comment haha" . China airline could be easily a 5 star airline in many people's opinion that are in the airline industry. Hope that helps "including myself in my previous comment haha"

        From my experience, also. China Airlines is awesome, I compared it to Emirates on trans-Tasman. Air China was 'fine' the 4 times I've flown them, but I'd take China Airlines any day.

  China Airlines, the airline from Taiwan is exceptional.

  Their business class cabin is one of the most beautiful cabin in the industry. The layover is in Taipei, Taiwan.

  On the other hand, Air China can be considered inferior and depending on your personal circumstances, an layover in China might not be the best idea.
