I have the 65" LZ1500 and it is a stunning TV. Natural looking and not oversaturated colours.

Great price but it should be noted that they are now just rebadged Chinese TV brand called TCL.
I don't think TCL has any OLED tv's in there lineup so re-badge might not be an entirely accurate statement. TCL indicated they might be releasing some OLED tv's at CES earlier this year but they have not hit the market or had any other details released yet as far as I can tell.

It looks like they kept the R & D division though, so while it remains to be seen how reliable they are, I would rank their picture processing etc higher than TCLs.

Sure, but Apple probably have quality control in place too, just like Panasonic, so I don't think we can just assume that an IPhone will be crappy because it is made by FoxConn.
Quality control and quality of parts.
While the Japanese may demand 10,000 hours on a specific part, button the new owners (TCL) might only demand or less.
Pure speculation though.
TCL have some of the best warranties on their own branded products that you will find in the TV sector - 3yrs on their TV's and they are really well built especially compared to the rest in the price ranges they are competing within. Xiaomi also make fantastic tech with great build quality.
Making assumptions based solely on the country of manufacture seems very outdated, the product/s itself is what should be assessed and judged.
These oled tvs are Panasonic and not rebranded TCL they were designed by Panasonic with LG panels and are now made in a TCL factory.All of Panasonics low end tvs will be TCL in the future but Panasonic will be still doing R&D on their OLED models .
