Anyone looking at plex to stream their media I would also look at Jellyfin, free & open source.
LTT did a pretty in depth comparison of the two. For me Plex is still the better option, but I have high hopes Jellyfin will catch up.
Same here, the main reason I've stuck with Plex is because Jellyfin doesn't have an app for Samsung smart TVs yet.
Even the native iOS app is not that great yet.

Not that I can ever remember (definitely not for a very long time anyway). It has been increasing in price over time. I got it a couple of years or so ago and I think it was around $120 off memory.

Don't think it will ever go down now. They have fixed the loophole of paying from different country.
I got this deal back in 2021. Have thankfully never heard a peep from them about it since they closed the loophole.
I do live in perpetual fear though, wondering if today might be the day they catch up to me and call me out for not really being a resident of Türkiye. Honestly, I’m not sure if the relentless stress from bending the rules like this is worth the relatively insignificant monetary discount that I got.

I've got it for $111 last month via Google play store account (turkey). No code needed.
I tried to get a free month of Plex pass this morning and used my nz credit card and I chose the Australia, which is around $140nzd. Not a lot cheaper. But it’s better than nothing tho. Turkey and Brazil simply don’t work any more.
Plex I’m happy to pay whatever they ask. I don’t even bother with flying to Turkey etc as Plex adds so much value and quality media goodness..
Can you give us a bit of an insight whats Plex and what it is used for? I am new to this and not heard of Plex until now. Anyone currently using it?
