    • Is it better to use this than using sony android tv? I want to install kodi with some addon for live tv

4k max works very well with kodi. I use it

  • What's the interface like on these? Was looking at a Roku for the simplistic interface for an elderly relative, the Chromecast is full of ads and fluff, want something as easy as possible.

    • Have a Fire TV Cube from a couple years ago. Runs very slowly. Got one of the new Apple TV boxes a couple months ago, world of difference and still have it set up fine with UK TV apps etc

Not sure what these sticks are like and whether they'd be any faster than the cube

I have both I would say that the Amazon is more responsive, similar Interface where you can have favourite apps. The only real difference between the two is the volume control where you must have a compatible television or sound bar with the Amazon, the Google TV has an option of Google TV volume or infrared.
Also the Amazon fire stick uses less Power so I use the USB power on the television

      • The slight sluggishness of the interface is the only thing I dislike about the GTV, I've been considering buying one of these but don't like the idea of not being able to use Google Assistant with it

    • I turned most of the ads off on the Google TV. I only had it for one day though (I set it up for my parents).
