Keychron K2-K2 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard Blue

THE BEST COMBINATION OF FULL-SIZED AND TENKEYLESS KEYBOARD
K2 is a super tactile wireless or wired keyboard giving you all the keys and function you need while keeping it compact, with the largest battery, the K2 Non-Backlit Version can last up to 2 months.

I haven't used this one yet, but I have a K8 and it's a great mechanical keyboard. This one isn't backlit, but you're also not going to find many Keychron keyboards this cheap. If you're keen to start on the mechanical keyboard path, check it out.

There's discounts on a range of the Keychron keyboards. I looked at the C1 but the reviews led me to go for the K2. C1 link: https://themarket.com/nz/p/keychron-c1-wired-mechanical-keyb…

  • Is this version hotswappable ?

    • +1

      The description includes:

      HOT-SWAPPABLE
Hot-swappable means to customize your typing experience without soldering, just pop in the switches you want, and its done.

      So I assume yes

      It's in the description…

      HOT-SWAPPABLE
Hot-swappable means to customize your typing experience without soldering, just pop in the switches you want, and its done.

*The K2 Non-Backlight Keychron (Hot-swappable) version keyboard support altering switches.
Socket of Keychron (Hot-swappable) is compatible with almost all the MX style 3pin ("~" key supports 3pin only) and 5pin mechanical switches on the market (including Gateron, Cherry, Kailh, etc.). SMD-LED compatible switches are the best for showing the backlights.

On the Keycron website there are two models one hot swappable and one not. The description is a general one taken from that website covering both models.

So it isn't 100% clear which model this is.

It would be safer to assume this keyboard is not hot swappable.

        • I guess I'll have to report back when it gets here. If not I'll look at returning it.

          • @crimson: It doesn't come with a tool to remove the keys so I assume it's not hot swappable. Already started the return

  • Looks like it's blue switches so for anyone interested blue is mostly for typing and not for gaming also they tend to be the loudest switches, if you play fps games or any games really reds are generally the best imo as they have no clickly feedback or bump

    • Yep that's a good point. I'm going to use mine for typing but if I don't like the blue I'm planning to swap them out for brown

most people buy hotswappable keyboard will swap out the switches amd keycaps so doesn't really matter.
