Unfortunately, as a NZ customer, you'll probably have to talk to live chat to get the credit added to your account. I've had no issues with that part, but it is a pain.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals.

  • Just be aware gift cards purchased on amazon.com.au can only be spent on the AU amazon (and not amazon.com as don't apply to the different country/domains)

  • Everytime I buy a gift card using a code, the promotion always applies at checkout, but I never get the promotional credit and always have to chat to support to get it manually applied.

@Wakrak - "Unfortunately, as a NZ customer, you'll probably have to talk to live chat to get the credit added to your account. I've had no issues with that part, but it is a pain."

This has been my experience for the past 5 gift card purchases with promo credit. It's incredibly frustrating being told by Amazon reps to wait X business days, and keep me on hold for 25+ minutes each time I contact them. They keep saying they will monitor it and apply it if it doesn't get automatically apply, but to date no agent has followed through with that promise. I've chatted to another agent and I'm repeating myself, and the agent is following the script and offering to do exactly the same thing. It's almost not worth the pain for $5 for the amount of time I've wasted on support calls.

    "What code did you use?"
    "Please bear with me… "
"I'm still looking into this… please allow me 2 minutes"
    10 minutes later
"Where was the promotional page advertising the credit?"
    "Please bear with me… "
"Did you make sure it was applied during checkout?"
    "Please bear with me… "
"Did you receive the confirmation email that you'll receive the credit?"
    "Please bear with me… "
"Wait after two business days" (even though ozbargainers are getting the credit instantly)
    "Please bear with me… "
"I'm still looking into this… please allow me 2 minutes"
    10 minutes later
I disconnect from chat after the mobile goes to lock screen and terminates the chat session, and reconnect to a different agent and go through this all over again. It's like Groundhog Day.
