Free $5 Credit @ PayPal

160

Got this email from Paypal. Wasn't sure at first if it was a phishing scam but the sender address and link in the email looked legit.

I opened Paypal directly and sure enough on the noticification homepage there is a link to the deal.
Worth signing in to your account to see if you have it.

Paypal are probably trying to recover some of the thousands of members they lost due to their recent Acceptable Use Policy change fiasco:

Do you have reputable source instead? I'm sure it's generally true, I just don't want to give those guys clicks.

Unlikely, PayPal have been doing promotions like this for 10+ years. I also suspect the number of Kiwis who are aware of what you're talking about, and care enough to let it influence whether they use PayPal one way or the other is very small and PayPal knows this.

      • I had my paypal account for more than 15 years and used it regularly never seen promo like this.

    • Agreed, it was a stupid policy from beginning like they consulted some one from the labour government.

  • Nope, not there. :(

    • Nope, not there 2 :(

I tried to claim this but it said I wasn't eligible or promo ended… then why did they send me it? So dumb lol

    • Maybe already hit the 40k limit of claimants?

Just clicked, now waiting to receive confirmation within the next 72 hours

  • Bonus $5.00 has been added to my account. Thanks OP.

    • So, how can you withdraw it then, as when U transfer to your bank account, it shows min $15 to send. But you can't top up from your account to pp accnt, as I didn't find the transfer to my bank account option although it mentions on their help centre.

I transferred it to another PayPal account that a family member has active. It showed in theirs within a couple of days.
