Seems like a good price comparing to other places or Trademe older ones.

The Accessories Bundle includes:

  • HERO11 Black
  • Spare Enduro Battery
  • The Handler
  • Head Strap + Quick Clip
  • 32GB SD Card

Using the subscription hack from OzBargain brings the price down to $650 (free shipping)

Decided to take one for the team and just tried the hack ordering a GoPro Hero11 Black.

Not sure if it'll work yet but here's what I did:

  • Transferred $580 onto my Visa debit card (because if they try to charge both amounts, in theory the second amount shouldn't go through)
  • Added Hero11 to cart for $649.95 ($579.96 + $69.99 for subscription, free shipping)
  • Entered my details, chose PayPal, placed order
  • Authorised $579.96 charge with PayPal
  • Got a success screen
  • Went to PayPal Automatic Payments and cancelled GoPro within 5 seconds
  • Checked PayPal Recent Activity and it says PENDING, "This is a temporary authorisation to make sure your payment method can cover the payment. Your payment method will be charged when GoPro Inc. completes your order"
  • Checked my Visa debit card balance, $0 has been charged so far
  • Clicked on GoPro's email link, created cloud account
  • Cancelled GoPro subscription, it says "Subscription end date September 22, 2023"
  • Checked GoPro subscription billing history, it was empty
  • About 10 mins later $579.96 was taken from my Visa debit card
  • PayPal Recent History is unchanged, still says Pending
  • Checked the Track My Order email from GoPro, it says "We don't see it, but hold tight”
  • It's been several hours but no emails as of yet saying subscription payment failed, just that the subscription has been cancelled

Note - I had tabs already open for PayPal so I could refresh and cancel quickly:

    These cameras are mighty impressive now. Is this a one off special or just what the price is now normally?

    I haven't been on the bandwagon since the 8, which honestly does all I need.

    $650 is mighty tempting though, if even just to get back replaceable front lenses etc.

    Need to check out what I can get 2nd hand for the 8…

    Oooh interesting! Hope it works for you all. I'll be following with interest. I'm a massive GoPro fan, I have the 9 and I just purchased the 11 a few days ago (haven't picked it up yet) from Torpedo7 as I could get it cheaper, and don't need those accessories as part of the deal. I've got a subscription already, but it's worth having if you own the camera.

      How did the torpedo 7 price for the 11 compare to this deal at $650?

        I used the the Student discount code first, which is 15% off full price items, which comes down to $765. I had a voucher to use for the other $60 and I like the flybuys. Not cheaper than this deal, but cheaper for me personally as I already have accessories and a subscription.

          All good, how long have you had it and what are the thoughts? That new screen looks very appealing over the older info only ones.

          I'm in a similar boat, have the hero 8 and seriously looking at this. Just found the original box and have an extra battery etc. Some of that stuff won't be compatible with the newer ones so might be able to put together a bundle on marketplace that will sell. Could do someone for Christmas etc ahead of the coming summers activities.

    I am picking up the 11 today, can give an update later. There's definitely a market for second hand models, not sure how much they're selling for at the moment. I suspect I won't get much more than $450-500ish for my 9 with no accessories. I think you're right on the battery and protection cases on compatibility, however the mounts and stick holders should be fine with the 11 if you have those.

      You do anything extra to limit credit card available balance etc, or just go for it and cancel asap

        i did have a $650 limit, you cancel the subscription after purchase but i dont think asap is required from what i read before purchasing, the invoice states the subscription is a separate order but not yet charged.

        Billing Date: 10/12/2022
        Term: Yearly
        GoPro will automatically renew for additional terms unless you cancel. You may cancel anytime by selecting Cancel Subscription in your account settings.

        should be all good. I did go through the whole process and only posted here once the Hero11 have arrived - it took 2 days for the shipping info email. Got like 4 failed payment emails so far - last one saying final notice and If the next charge fails, your account will be cancelled automatically

                @KJKNZ: Went for $500 to start with based on others in my area. Mine comes with a spare battery and a third party triple charger as the batteries for the 11 etc are a different size.

                It’s in excellent condition and has all the original packaging so would make a cool gift for Christmas/birthday etc.

        Could reactivate it and change the bonuses mentioned in the title, but I'll let OP make that decision.

        No, The go pro got charged and the subscription got added and was going to be charged the next day so i cancelled via paypal.
