  • What are you thoughts or Smartfare? They seem to have very mixed review?

My thoughts are usually that when things go smoothly you remember the airline. When you need to change something or get credit etc, you remember the online booking agency. So most reviews tend to be those who had a bad time. I've used them, basically as long as you don't think any of the extra charges (eg insurance, SMS messages) and aren't going to be changing dates, it's ok. If you need to contact them, don't expect travel agent service - expect an overseas call center style of service. But I had no issues myself.

I tried to booked a flight for 3 people with Air Asia a few weeks ago, from Auckland to Kuala Lumpur on March 2023, price for everything including all the fees, taxes, foods etc are $3k for 3 people, only when you at the last payment page the price jump from $3k to $9k, I keep checking back for the next 2 week and they did not seem to fix the problem.

Did you went all the way through the payment page for these? Not sure I can trust these prices now…

    • i noticed their poli option didnt work which was irritating. had to pay by cc with the added fee.

didnt have a issue with the fare changing though. are you sure it wasnt a currency thing? i noticed sometimes it doesnt detect nzd at the first instance.

      • Don't think it's the currency, it show NZD all the way and $9k is a ridiculous fares for 3 return tickets from Auc to Kul on a low cost airline. I even change to others currency and same thing happened. At the same period I can book SIA all in return fares for 3 from Chc to Kul for $4.5k
