  • This has been going for a while now and there was a decent amount in stock in Palmerston north a few weeks back.

Check out the Ryobi one+ multi pack drill and driver combo at bunnings too, you are starting your build from scratch .

    • Hey mate I'm starting now and was looking for a good recommendation for first kit. I can't find that the one you mentioned, is that an ongoing deal or once in a while at Bunnings? THanks

      • Depending on what you need https://www.bunnings.co.nz/ozito-pxc-18v-6-piece-cordless-ki… is a good starter kit for general light renovation/jobs as it has most things you will probably need.

If you are going to use the drills alot though and in hard native woods, concrete etc they often do a brushless drill 2 pack+battery (standard drill plus impact driver) for 189$ ish kit promo but none in NZ stock ATM https://ozito.com.au/products/18v-brushless-drill-impact-dri… these drills are really powerful, great for screwing into hard native woods.

I started my kit with the brushless drill 2 pack and have slowly added in probably 70% of their battery total tool range over the past 3 years. Great tools and warranty for home renovations and in the garden.

Making sure you're using a 4.0Ah+ battery is very important for drilling tough materials. If you're drilling into concrete/tile a lot, then don't consider these drills. Get a rotary, either corded (cheaper) or cordless. Impacts are for screwing, drills for drilling. For most light screwing work, a drill will suffice with a large enough pilot hole. The biggest mistake people make when buying cheap tool kits is getting a really low Ah battery bundled (1.5, 2.0, 2.5Ah). Ah isn't just capacity, it is also proportional to the power delivery and a drill will benefit from it.

Not responding to anyone in particular, just adding more infomation.

  • Hi I cannot find it on the burning site: https://www.bunnings.co.nz/search/products?q=ozito%20pxc%20b… Do you have any info about what I need to look for please?

it does appear on the powerpass app if you use the sku.
agree it doesn't show on the actual bunnings website.

I've found this before with ozito pxc batteries, they did the black 4.0ah ones that were cheaper than the red ones but weren't on the website.

        • $49 blacks. If i didnt already have 5 of them i would get this deal

          • @Foodie: iirc there is no difference other than cosmetically? Was tempted then and tempted now. Did you buy a charger or get it bundled?

            • +2

@Bill: there's a tear down video online, the Ozito PXC stuff is rebranded Einhell products.
I have both red and black and find no difference.

            • @Bill: No noticeable difference.
I just bought 1 when i saw them in store, soread over a few months. Porirua used to have them all the time.
Got the charger when i bought impact driver and drill. I dont have the dual charger but i have needed to charge 2 batteries at once as i seem to always have charged ones on standby

              • @Foodie: Tempted to become one of those tool brand fanatics, you often find them on Milwaukee and ryobi. Nice and shiny, same colour scheme workshop, batteries hung on chargers like grapes on a vine. Drooling already but I've already got ryobi and dewalt, two's company, three's a crowd.

  • Great deal, mate picked up one in Dunedin a few weeks ago and my dad got one from Kerikeri last week. I was super tempted myself but already have 3x 4ah batteries and two chargers.

Great price for anyone entering into the Ozito battery tools family! Such a good brand for the price and 5yr warranty for the win.

I have not had any issues with my stuff renovating our villa and landscaping these past few years other than with the hammer drill (wasn't biting hard onto the bits) which they replaced over the counter no questions asked.

  • Anyone know if this available in any auckland store?

    • Yep, showing in stock in all stores. aisle 133 at mt roskill

      • Thanks. Picked one up in Constellation.

        • I picked up 2 :-D - as I have no idea when this is happening again! Now I have 9 x 4hr batteries - and 6 of them 2 for 99 and the other three came with tools.

          • @cheekiecheapo: That's a lot of batteries. :)
But I agree it's a good deal to pass.
